Has anyone noticed the message board at headquarters?
[Yes, he's talking about the Perimeter Guard missions.]
I've had a really bad feeling lately, and my suspicions are that I'm not alone on this one.
[He knows how touchy some people can be about saying against this place, but Ed and gods didn't mix well. He spent too much of his life denying their existence just to spend five years under the power of them, or at least beings claiming to be them - and if he eventually could convince himself they weren't, he'd be much happier. That didn't mean he wanted a repeat of that.]
Some of the stuff going on recently has been a little too familiar for my liking, and if there's any possibility that some sleeping god is behind it, I'm going to go check it out.
[It's not easy spending your life afraid of glitter, okay. Between the carnival, the glitter, the sudden influx of people - which he's learned just began a few months ago - this place was starting to look suspiciously like a certain other event in his life. Even if he's wrong, he doesn't even want to chance that this thing waking up is going to change the dynamic everyone had grown so used to here.
If it being asleep is what's causing the portal to function the way it is, though? He doesn't want to kill or destroy it, either. In his experience that would send most people, if not everyone, home - and a lot of the residents here didn't want that. If he was being honest, himself included.]
[ooc: Chloe and Ed are at it again, Chloe will have a log up sometime next week to get this plot going. In the meantime, Ed's suspicions are super high and no one else cares so he's none too happy, atm. I will be throwing up a public plurk for plotting and discussion, and linking it hereonce I've put it up.]

[ this is difficult to explain for him without giving too much away (as much as he loves his abilities being admired), so he pauses for a second to figure out how to word it. ]
I'm sensitive to things like that. Think of it as something like empathy.
no subject
[There was no ambiguity with deities in his past, they knew what was being done to them and why. This was new territory that he wasn't familiar with.
Empathy also isn't really a thing on Ed's world, a younger him might have scoffed at the concept - even if he gave this guy the benefit of the doubt that that he had some skill, he certainly wouldn't call it that.
In the last few years Ed had seen some things that made him stop questioning people so much.]
We have someone that can probably help find it, but- I wouldn't say no to extra help, at this point. What do you do with the Guard?

So, we're co-workers. I don't think I've seen you around, though.
[Voice isn't familiar and Salvage and Repair was a pretty small team last time he checked.]

I just got here a few weeks ago... And I'm not really used to working with strangers.
[ only his small band of friends even knew he existed before. ]

I arrived last month, there were only two of us when I got here.
[Just to put things into perspective. It was certainly a growing profession.]
You're going to need to get used to it, if you want to join us. This could be dangerous, I don't want anyone coming that might put others at risk because they're not used to being a team player.
[15-year-old Ed is cringing at this crap, right now.]

[ and he's really bad at making friends, frankly, but he's obviously not about to say that?! Usually, nobody can talk to him except for that aforementioned group of people. It's hard to get used to this. ]
Anyway, I'm here now, and that's what actually matters. My name is Morgana.
no subject
[He doesn't know what kind of world Morgana is from, but he's seen it enough times to know most people aren't used to the new place they've found themselves in.]
If you work with a group back home, I'm sure you'll adjust to it well enough here.
[He did, and he wasn't a team player before. Ed also seemed to have a habit of making friends with those that didn't do so well, so Morgana's in good company here.]
Edward Elric, just like it says. You can call me Ed.

[ he's certainly confident. Especially considering he doesn't really know what to expect, here. Or if they'll even take him seriously when he shows up and they see what he actually is.
Oh well. It'll be their loss, he thinks! ]

We're planning to head out Monday, I'll let you know.
