[ the feed opens with skeletal fingers holding the camera. then, it pulls back to reveal nico, sitting on a throne of bones with a silver crown atop his head. for a few seconds he merely smirks at the feed, twisting the silver skull ring on his forefinger. it's dark around him, candles on the ground nearby providing a little bit of illumination. where he's at is hard to tell, but it's obviously nowhere close to the communal housing. ]

You know, I love October. [ someone's more chipper than he was in his last post. ] It's my favorite time of year. When the boundaries between life and death are at their weakest. This is the time when we can learn the most about the past, learn the most from those that came before us.

Also, get a ton of free candy.

Naturally, this is my kind of month. And if anyone is interested, I can provide some free and real decorations. The kind you won't get in a store.

[ as if to demonstrate, the feed jostles as his skeletal cameraman tosses his head at nico. the son of hades catches it and twirls it on one finger like a basketball. ]

After all, this is my time.

That makes sense. Here I didn't think he'd ever have a child from what the stories say, but they're just stories after all. Funny how that all works out in the end.

Almost all the gods have demigod children. There are few that don't. And really, most of the stories about him are only partially true.

[Honestly, he's not really that surprised.] Most stories are. They've been told so many times by so many people everyone forgets what the truth of it was. There is a bit of truth to it somewhere, but I'm sure you don't want to spend all day enlightening me on the legends of your father. You're not the first god or demigod I've met in this place, but you're the first I've met with those fascinating powers of yours.

[deathkid]

[ this guy talks a lot, but out of all the blather, nico catches something. ]

You've met other demigods? I know there are gods here too, but I... thought I was alone.

[somakemelaugh]

[He tends to do that now and then. Right now, he'll fold his hands over the gargoyle's head and rest his chin on them.] In a manner of speaking. They set a post on this thing they call the network around here, you see, and I had a chat with the one, though he couldn't seem to give me a straight answer. What makes you think you're alone in this world?

[deathkid]

Because, so far, there haven't been any other demigods that I've seen. Maybe I missed the one you were talking about.

[somakemelaugh]

They seem like the quiet type, and I can't much blame them. Who wants all of that attention anyway? He sat with two others, but I didn't catch their names. They were offering assistance, and I found that quite odd.

[deathkid]

Now I'm really curious. [ he is totally not pouting what. ] But I get it. I don't like a ton of attention most of the time. Unless it's for this.

Offering assistance, though. That's not uncommon.

[somakemelaugh]

[Now he himself is curious. He sets his chin over a loose fist.] You'll see them around, I'm sure. Call for help, if you must, and I bet one of them might come to you.

Is it not? Must be I lived on the wrong side of the world, then. God, where I'm from, likes to keep his distance, but so does the devil. Something of a pact they have, I suppose.

[deathkid]

It's not like I'll need help or anything... [ gestures at his skeletal cameraman. ]

I don't know anything about god with a capital G, but the gods tend to get involved in various ways. Usually in terms of having kids with mortals and us demigods, being between the gods and mortals... we kinda have the role of protecting both realms.

[somakemelaugh]

[He shrugs lightly in the view and pretends like this is an everyday occurrence, though the skeleton holding the camera does very much have his interest. How does one animate a body with no muscle to move it about? Even his own attempts weren't that successful, but that's not saying much.]

It's different depending on where in the world you are, back home, and what you believe. The gods - God, gods, whatever have you - they change to best suit what humans put their faith in. Funny that they do. They never show their faces, not even the evil ones. Not in England. Would've liked to have known your kind of gods though. A good ol' meet and greet might be nice. [He likes to know his employer, after all.]

So you're saying that you're familiar with gods then. Or "god with a capital g" God?

You know, I think there was a time when the gods were centered in England, but that had to have been 200 or so years ago.

[somakemelaugh]

[Shrug.] One of them, yes. But that's just England for you. They think they're the center and height of everything just because they have nice clothes and decent food. I do hope that changes later on in time.

[deathkid]

Americans are like that too. I think that's why the gods chose America as the location for Mt. Olympus.

[somakemelaugh]

Perhaps. Never did claim to know how they think and there's times I don't really want to. Seems to me that the gods you know are much like humans and I might like to say they chose America when its people seemed like them.
