[ when the feed clicks on, there is a somewhat annoyed and tired looking face staring into the void. his hair is a mess and, despite being located in a bed in the communal housing area, he looks like he hasn't been friends with sleep for at least half a decade if those dark circles under his eyes are to be believed. at least he bothers to open his eyes when he addresses the network, voice rough and with a distinct southern drawl.

So I get that there's a jungle and a whole lotta forest out there along with shit that no one really wanted to delve into detail about but, anyone know if there's a swamp? Maybe a marshy area? Fuck, even a squishy patch of moss an' shit would be nice. Ain't gonna be much use if I can't find one of those.

[ a huff, Sage rolls over on the bed, feed tilting until its looking down on him laying in the bed, mint hair splayed everywhere. ]

Also for those that might know, how the fuck does magic work here? Like-- I get there are 'things' beyond the walls and all but-- what about werewolves? Other witches? How do you cast a fucking circle here? Also, where the fuck do I get the strongest whiskey?

From what I can tell, there's all sorts of different types of magic. And they all work.

I can give you more detailed information about what's outside the walls.

Magic definitely works here. Both magic from other realities and whatever it is that the locals can do. We have a High Warlock who could tell you more about magic and where to find the whiskey.

I'm a swamp witch, so the way magic works for witches. Channel raw power and magic into whatever the fuck I can. [ and he almost says more, almost, but he still doesn't know anyone here or what their intentions are sooo--

[one might assume that he would jump on this right away. and yet-

it takes him a few minutes. minsu just tilts his head at the video, and then to the other side. that is definitely sage's face, but he's heard that that sort of thing can happen here, as heartbreaking as it would be. it's been a little while since he looked like that, the circles under his eyes and the line of his mouth, but that is his witch's face.

it's also sage's voice, complete with familiar drawl that sounded so cute when it formed the words that minsu had started to teach him. the name attached to this video...

he wishes he could smell him, wishes he could breathe him in, and then minsu would know. it doesn't seem real. minsu tries to speak up a couple of times, but nothing seems to work, and his voice cracks when he finally does get it out.]

maybe he's mad at him. yes, that would make sense. even if time did him a solid and paused the way he's heard, sage would still have reasons to be upset with him when he got back to him - and he was going back. minsu hadn't opened his eyes a single time without that being his first thought. he had to believe it, to know. he would've gone mad here otherwise.

he never expected sage to come to him first.]

I'm sorry, I'm so sorry Sage. [the apologies start tumbling from his lips. please yell at him, lecture him, do anything but give him that blank look.] Ah, I've missed you so much.

there is clear confusion on his face as blinks at the guy that is spouting apologies at him like he knows him. like they know each other. Sage's first thought is that he has slept with this guy back home but-- no, he is pretty sure he would remember that face if that were the case. second is that he is being confused for someone else.

that is more likely.

putting the device down on the bed, Sage holds up his hands as if that will somehow pacify the guy. will convince him that he isn't who he thinks he is (except it just shows Minsu familiar rings and bracelets, fewer than he is used to, but there).]

Uh, I -- I have no fucking clue who you are. [ a flicker while he looks at the username before, stilted:] Minsu? I fucking hope that's your name, whatever. I'm not Sage-- well no, I am, but not... fuck why do I even--

Well I've never met a witch where I'm from. [Aside from a Night Witch, but that seems to be something very different.]

We don't have witches in our reality except for a few beings who can do a couple of spells. Warlocks and the Fae are the ones with magic. [He tries to imagine Magnus having to be in a swamp to do magic and fails.] Power isn't based on certain places there unless it's ley lines.

[he recognizes them, each ring and bracelet. he remembers the lazy afternoon when sage explained the purpose of each one, head resting on minsu's stomach.

for some terrible reason, sage doesn't remember him. there's a moment where minsu's heart breaks. but there's no time for that, his feelings come second. he just needs to find sage, take care of him, and they can figure out the rest.

sage has hung up on him, but not before minsu has recognized the bed. there are only so many floors in this building, only so many doors that he has to get through, or sit outside of, or whatever he has to fucking do to find him.
