One of the things people don't do often is talk about the good things they've done or have right now. Sometimes being away from home is hard, so sharing helps!

So what's one good thing in your life right now? Yesterday, I got a cat out of a tree! It wasn't very happy but the owner thanked me a lot.

Do rabbits eat parsley?

Rabbits eat pretty much anything with green.

All I know about rabbits is how to catch them and that you can starve eating the damn things

That's definitely an interesting experience to have with rabbits.

This wasn't on the animal planet you went to, right??

Oh gods no, that's. No, we didn't eat any of those guys

[A horrifying thought. Even if they were animals, they were self-aware enough that Taako would put that on par with like, eating dwarf or human. Not technically cannibalism, but still bad news.]

But me and Lup used to hunt for food, rabbits are a lot easier for two fifteen year old elves to catch than like, a deer.

Oh. That makes way more sense.

Did you hunt them with magic or arrows?

Snares, mostly. We didn't learn magic until a couple years later and couldn't afford a bow.

It's fine, pumpkin, it's not like we had a super rough life, we just had to make do. Growing up like that is half of why I'm good at cooking.

You're the BEST at cooking. I bet everyone gets jealous.

Even Lup gets jealous, but don't tell her I told you, cause she might shave my hair off in revenge :O

No, she wouldn't.

I wish I had a sibling.

Siblings are pretty great, but they don't need to be by blood.

I mean, not to get all emotional up in here, but I spent a century with the same six other people, living and dying together.

They're my family, too.

My dad has something like that. Batman and Wonder Woman. They're super close.

But I just don't see that happening for me.

Neither did I, little man.

That's kinda how it works.

I guess I've met some cool people here in Riverview. They all try to look out for me.

And no offense, but you're like, ten. Life is gonna change a lot.

[What he means is that ten years of life experience isn't enough to judge how the rest of his life is going to be.]

I've seen crazy stuff at the age of ten.

Not saying you haven't, but at ten there's no way I thought "you know what maybe I'm gonna join a scientific institute and end up on a mission travelling across the planar system".

You never know what's coming.

Yeah I guess so.

I saw the future once, but the whole experience was kind of trippy.
