One of the things people don't do often is talk about the good things they've done or have right now. Sometimes being away from home is hard, so sharing helps!

So what's one good thing in your life right now? Yesterday, I got a cat out of a tree! It wasn't very happy but the owner thanked me a lot.

Superman's strong. He believes in people and wants to always help out.

Hey, I didn't mean any disrespect. I just meant that the winged horses sounded cool, because I'd never seen them before.

He sounds like a good person. I like the sound of it.

They're all good. They're the Justice League. No one else comes close. They have a tower in space to help them solve problems.

[causational]

Wait, a real tower in space? You have to tell me more. I have a friend who would LOVE to hear about this.

No problem. This is all kind of common knowledge stuff.

[ Jon's actually been to the Watch Tower, but he'll omit most of the details. ]

Not common knowledge where I come from. Or when? When maybe? I have no idea if you're from my world but a different time...

Well, it sounds like your Flash is new and stuff. So give it a few years?

I'm from an alternate reality anyway so things aren't gonna match up.

[causational]

Yeah, he's pretty new. Less than a year being a hero, at the point I'm from.

[That catches him a little off guard. He knows what alternate realities are!]

You are? Oh wow. Can I ask what happened?

[supersweet]

Super new then.

What do you mean?

[causational]

The only alternate timeline I know of happened when The Flash ran back in time and changed the past. I think. Like I said, I'm not much of a scientist.

I was just wondering what happened to cause your alternate timeline, I guess. Unless it's sensitive.

[The one he knows of is definitely sensitive to at least a couple people.]

[supersweet]

I don't really know the details. My original timeline collapsed around the time I was born and we got moved somewhere else. But certain timelines have always kind of existed side by side. I don't know if the Flash had anything to do with it.

[causational]

Huh. I only really learned that time travel was a thing that could happen a few months before I showed up here. My world has been changing a lot, really fast.

[supersweet]

It'll keep changing. And it'll be hard to keep up.

[causational]

Well, I can't go back to mine. And I'm getting used to this place, at least.

[supersweet]

Why can't you go back?

[causational]

Because I don't exist anymore, back there. This is my second chance.

[supersweet]

[ Oh. That . . . definitely sucks. ]

I'm sorry. Not existing anymore is hard. Especially when you feel forgotten.

[causational]

[It's easier for him, to say he doesn't exist, than to admit that he'd died. And he doesn't want to say it to someone who's asking about the good things, someone he suspects is just a kid.]

I don't think I'm forgotten, at least.

[A pause, and then another text-]

You sound like you've run into this kind of situation before.

Yeah. It happened to me. Someone made my parents forget who I was.

It was like I never existed.

[ permaprivate ]

[causational]

[Oh. God.]

You did exist. You do. I promise.

Did they remember?

Yeah, we managed to fix it. But it was . . . really horrible.

It still scares me.

[causational]

I don't blame you. I still have nightmares about what happened to me sometimes.

[supersweet]

Yeah.
