*No video because Lola doesn't feel cute enough for video. This is a strictly practical call for assistance and as such she's seeing zero reason to wake up enough to do her hair or anything like that.*

*Cause the girl is tired. So very tired. All the tired. And she sounds all the tired. And a little concerned. And a little like she doesn't really believe what she's saying.*

So... um... a lot of people here have weird silly nonsense powers. How did you know, um, that you had any? Or what they do? Or how to make them do what you want?

And did they make you tired all the time?

Um, really tired, but I kinda blame that on waking up to the building being on fire.

I mean I've been tired all the time lately, but today that is definitely about the fire, and nothing else.

If it's been happening since before the fire you can't blame the fire.

Alchemy can be tiring if you use it a lot or do a large transmutation at once, but- that doesn't sound like what you're talking about. You have to do it deliberately, alchemy doesn't just happen and make you question if you can do it.

I'm sure a lot of things here are similar in that they drain whoever uses them.

How long has this been going on?

Um... a few weeks?

*This is what guilt sounds like. Cause now that she's thinking about it she probably should have done something about this the first time she fell asleep in a weird place. Which was over a week ago!*

I haven't been doing anything different! I just do my normal stuff, school, work, judge what people wear but not say anything if I don't know them. Now I'm just really tired all the time.

Make any new friends?

Anything you can think of being different around when it started? Particularly the first day?

Um... when it started? No... same people I usually see. There weren't any new regulars at the diner either. No new students in class...

*Lola was good at people, it was a part of how socially aware she was. So if she met anyone creepy when this started. She'd think she'd notice.*

Um... no. Oh! Wait, one of the regulars at the diner passed on her second cup of coffee, which she always has. I remember because she was wearing the ugliest top and jacket combo I've ever seen.

Not unless you're particularly close to her. Something like that shouldn't be lingering this long, if say it was her causing it that one time.

[If she was a regular and might be causing something every day maybe, but Ed didn't trust that angle for a second.]

I'm thinking closer to home. New room mate, new friend, anyone you've been around more recently than usual. If someone else is causing it they might not be doing it intentionally, but if you're the one doing something it might be one isolated person.

It might not be related to people at all, this isn't really much to go on...

Aside from the fire, was anything else unusual last night? For you personally, I mean.

I've been too tired to really keep track of what could be making me so tired.

*Honestly she was the worst person to ask about this, and the topic is her so she should be pretty good at it. She knows she isn't sad, or depressed, she just isn't sure what Ed's looking for. She meets lots of people, but none had so much impact to make her think 'they did this.'*

Um... Keith's armor kinda... got clean by itself, and his wounds disappeared. A lot of people felt a little better after I gave them water and stuff. And the looked less... well done, I guess? But maybe I was just seeing things thinking they were more hurt than they were.

i worked with people with powers back home.
different people realized they had them in different ways. usually there would be signs, unexplained stuff happening in times of stress.
as for knowing what their powers did and how to control them, just a matter of time, science, and training.
for some metas their powers drained them or energy or sped up their metabolism so they got really hungry.

if you're tired all the time you should definitely look into it. if it's not superpowers it could be a medical thing.

why does this person think you might have powers? they must have a reason, right?

even if the world you're from is normal, you could have been exposed to something here, or in the journey here, that altered your dna
that was how it happened in my world - no one was BORN a meta
people got exposed to a bunch of weird energy that came through a dimensional rift, and that changed a small percentage of the population

[ It's been a busy few days and if she'd made someone less hurt and less sooty, chances are this had been during or just after the fire. A really stressful time. Definitely the sort of circumstances that could trigger some latent powers. ]

see if we can measure things and get you a definitive answer?

i know it's a lot to take in. it might just be a coincidence. but if it isn't... it's like you said. there's loads of people here with all kinds of different powers. you wouldn't even be close to being the only one

Okay, so how sure are you that powers aren't a thing where you're from?

In my world I learned a lot of things that weren't supposed to exist did. They were just kept secret.

Like, a billion percent sure. This is the sort of thing that would be all over the news if it were a thing.

*Lola that's not even remotely how percents work.*

*There's a click of someone turning on their microphone, and then a pause as they hesitate to answer. She still sounds very tired and very unsure.*

I wanna know, one way or another, whatever this is.

At least it isn't creepy death powers.

seriously tho, i've known some people with some powers that sounded pretty unpleasant at first, and they found a way to own them,
and use them to do good.

if you do have some kind of healing ability, think how amazing that'll be, once you can control it! you could be the best doctor ever.

how about you rest up as much as you can today and come by tomorrow morning? i'll see what i can do.

I'm not really going to get to be a doctor ever, I don't have the grades or the smarts.

But I do like the idea of helping people.

I'm in a hotel after all the fire stuff, I can just use this time to do all the personal health spa stuff that's too weird to do with nine roommates. That should help me relax.

What are the chances it's something you picked up here? I've seen that happen before too. Someone might be running around without their abilities right now because you have them, instead.

I mean, I did get an operation to make my hair change color, and the portal did turn me into an evil skank once. So I guess it could be something here that did this...

Sounds like something to keep an eye on and see if you notice it happening again? Unfortunately I don't know much about natural powers, but I doubt there's only one specific way they manifest.

That's not what's responsible for this. If this is actually anything. I had this done months ago.
