I wouldn't know. Where I came from, people brushed their teeth on a regular basis. If you lost a tooth, it was generally in battle, not from lack of upkeep.

[Vikings were a particularly clean lot for people living in the Dark Ages. They bathed regularly and brushed their teeth, rather unlike the rest of Europe at the time.]

Who knows what people today are like though?
