She does take her time to react, because she's indeed interested in the comics (despite having read some of them too many times to count). She does make note of who it is, of course, and knowing who it is makes her at ease; she knows Edward well enough to see he's just giving space and moving at a Laura-respected pace. After a moment, she closes the comic, putting her backpack on them as a paperweight.

"Did you come for the quiet?"

It's why she does, anyway.
