Video; thunderer [Thor 3 Spoilers]

[You can tell from the moment Thor's face appears on camera, he's been through hell and back. His hair is almost entirely buzzed down, save for the tufts on top, with markings shaved into the sides. His eye is covered by a black patch, indicating an injury that he isn't happy to talk about.]

I've made some changes. [Bluntly, as if he consented to any of this.]

What else.. Some things have happened at home that may be of interest to some of you. [He hums, considering.] Odin is dead. I have another sister? Her name is Hela. Mjolnir is destroyed. Banner is alive. [He feels a little guilty revealing that one, but he thinks someone deserves to know.] I fought the Hulk. I won. I met a real, live Valkyrie- And Asgard is.. [A people, not a place, but..] The realm has been destroyed. My people are seeking refuge, I suppose I understand now what displacement feels like.

I have the remains of Asgard in a ship, floating through space. If a portal could open for them, that would be extremely useful to me right now. I'm a king with no land or people, now. Very poetic. [Does he seem terse? He's kind of tense.


And then Loki comes barging in, looking very much the same and carrying a large parchment. He glances at the recording with a frown. He places the map of Earth on the wall, pinning it with a single dagger.]

Must you reveal everything? Put that away, I have work for you.

You'd hit a cripple?

[Ivar puts on a wounded expression.]

Shameful. That's not very nice of you.

[Thor has long since accepted that glasses are useless when it takes a whole bottle to get you buzzed, alright.]

She drank more than anyone I've ever known, you included. [He gestures the bottle at Tony.]

And she's a valkyrie, so you know she's a bad-ass. [He still sounds awkward, trying to pick up new words.]

Don't think I'm being dismissive, Rogers. Talking about things isn't really my forte. I'll be alright, I just need to go.. [He trails off, then shrugs.] Hit things, or something.

Loki you needs you more than I do.

[worldsaway]

I'll hit a cripple if he deserves it. [Bluntly.]

[ragnarsson]

I don't think I deserve it. Not quite yet.

[He can do a whole lot worse than this and Thor knows it.]

[inebriety]

[The smile he gives now is just a little too sharp.]

It's difficult to lie when they don't know what to do with me.

I'd hardly call that better.

[Tony looks at the bottle which is suddenly half empty.]

I don't drink that much.

[Well that's interesting information. He knew Valkyrie, though he suspects she isn't the same Thor groupie who gained powers. Just from the way Thor talks about her he's guessing she's more likely to be one of the characters from legend.]

Are you dropping the pseudo-formal speech?

[Tony looks absolutely delighted at the thought of Thor speaking like a normal person. Loki seems to do the same so he knew he couldn't offer him a large sum of money to get him to drop it, but Thor doing that without prompting is even better.]

Something like that. I found out some things about home last month.

It makes being here complicated.

Well, you'd think you'd know him best.

[ Okay. He hadn't expected that. ]

And what have you decided, o strong, powerful, and wise one?

[His voice just drips with sarcasm.]

Perhaps he does. I do not know the All-Father well, despite being his blood.

[ And she grew up on tales of his ruthlessness. So... ]

At least I always know where I stand.

You stand on your name because everyone recognizes it. In a one-legged race, I am sure you are bound to make a difference. Some aspects of you are memorable, but no one will say they know you.

[inebriety]

[He doesn't disagree with any of this.]

And? Am I supposed to be upset by how easily you've figured me out? I've never pretended to be anything else.

Likewise. I am who I am. I see no need to apologize for that.

I saved Asgard as myself, not masquerading some holier-than-thou attitude the Avengers have, when they're not debilitating each other.

That you'll get it when you least expect it.

It comes and goes. [Bluntly.] I feel like people take me more seriously when I speak casually, it makes me seem cool.

Trust me when I say I'm as tired of platitudes as you are, but if you want to talk about it I'm all ears. We're friends.

Yeah, we are. Goes for you too, you know. If you ever need to talk about any of that without hearing the usual 'I'm so sorry' crap.

We'll just see about that.

[He'll believe it when he actually sees it.]

[ Steve almost says "I know" but he doesn't. Instead, he nods. ]

I understand. If you need something to hit, I'm around for that too. I'll take care of him for you. Try not to let it eat at you too much.

You're projecting a little.

[He doesn't know what went on with his world that it got to the point where it affected their team work. His team is a prime example of not letting personal feelings get in the way.]
