[The video turns on to show a little girl wearing a jean jacket with some store bought brownies on a plate. She looks a little nervous, but it fades when she smiles at the camera.]

So...I was told there were other gods and demigods here. And if none of you are busy, I'd really like to talk to you? Cause...I only know of gods from history books and stories, but it would be nice to know what actually happened and what was really embellished--cause author's tend to do that.

[And then she remembers the brownies.]

I've got brownies too! So...your time's not wasted or anything.

[Hopefully Grandma Emma won't be upset about this...her granddaughter basically asking to talk to strangers...

But really, what's the harm?

...And hopefully the gods and demigods like chocolate.]

[ oh lucy, there is so much you have to learn about alex... ]

Alternate Universe. They're not my mom, but they're Loki, so.. they're.. kind of my mom.

[ .. cute. ] No thanks, I'm watching my figure. I'm sure Uncle Thor would love them, though.

[There is so much she needs to learn, period.]

Oh...[Wasn't there a realm that Henry and Emma went to? The wish realm or something? Would that be considered the same as an Alternative Universe? But it also works out with Nico telling her that vampires were all female in his world, so anything is possible at this point.] Well, better to have two mom's then no one. SO that's good at least.

You sure? I have more than enough, or I could try and find something else you might like. [But she didn't think Gods needed to look after their 'figure' with their powers and what not but Lucy keeps a mental note of it.]

I'm Lucy by the way, Lucy Mills.

[ to be honest, her mother's tried to murder her on more than one occasion, and her nephews finally managed it, so the idea of having multiple lokis around still occasionally makes her uncomfortable. but this is a kid who clearly loves her mom, so not.. getting into that.. ] Sure, they're alright.

[ well.. they're better than her mother back home, anyway. ]

Nah, I'm okay, really. And maybe wait until your grandma is home before you give anyone brownies, yeah? Most people seem pretty nice here, but not everyone is. [ please be more cautious, child.. ] I'm Alex. It's nice to meet you, Lucy.

[Maybe one day they could talk about their complex family histories...maybe.]

They seem nice so far. Though, one of them did have an entire plate of brownies for himself--the younger Loki that.

[Ignore the brief roll of her eyes.] I know, people have been telling me that. I wasn't going to invite anyone here. I thought gods..or demigods could summon things--or I would've left them out in the hallway on a chair.

[You know, complete with a sign that says 'if you're a god, take one.']

Nice to meet you, Alex! So, are you a trickster like Loki? Or...either Loki? [...Okay they're 2 different Loki's and now there's a third being mixed in, she'll have to figure out a system for this.]

[ hahaha, looks like this kid has a little sass, after all. good for her. ]

Okay, okay, just making sure. And for the record, not all gods are created equal, and demigods generally aren't on the same level as our parents.

[ imagine if she was as powerful as her mother.. though she inherited a lot from him, she's still barely an adult, while he's had thousands of years to develop his seidr. still, maybe one day. ]

Nah, demigods don't get locked into roles the way our parents do. I inherited a lot from mom, though. Adaptability, seidr--what you'd call magic--shapeshifting.. things like that.

[She has sass and will use when need it. And also spunk, so if there are any caves that suddenly appear--she will want to go exploring.]

Really? I mean, I thought the main gods would almost be equal in power, but then again Zeus was more powerful than the others. So...I see your point there.

[Taking down more notes, excuse her for just a moment.]

So you can do magic and shapeshifting--!! Wait. So..can you become anything? Like any animal, creature, or person?

They all have different gifts. Uncle Thor's tough as nails and an unmatched warrior, but he can't do magic or change shape like Mom and I can. My older sister's a goddess of the dead. .. Things like that.

[ the question makes her mouth quirk privately. everyone like the shapeshifting. she flicks the video on, sitting back in her chair. ]

Anything. What's your favorite animal? And I mean, any animal, living, extinct, or fantastical.

Oh, so your sister is sort of like Nico--and if you haven't met Nico, he's pretty cool.

[When the video turns on Lucy waves to the camera.]

Hi!

Uh...favorite animal....[She's an 8 year old girl, she has a favorite animal that changes every other week or so.]

I like cats...and ponies..and unicorns.

[ she shakes her head. ] Not like Nico. My sister's a goddess, not a demigod. They have similar.. powersets, I guess? But my sister would be more like Nico's dad, in charge of her own realm of the dead. I have demigod siblings, but the difference is that demigods always have a human parent, and gods don't.

[ she feels like this is probably a lot for a kid her age to take in, so moving on to fave animals: ]

Well, I do a cat pretty often, and unicorns are fun, so let's do that one. [ she props the device up, then stands and plants her hands on the tabletop. there's a weird sort of shimmer-- and suddenly, in her place there's a tiny unicorn no more than five inches from hoof to the tip of her horn prancing on the table in front of the phone. she tosses her mane, somehow managing to look smug. ]

Pretty good, huh?

Ohh..okay that makes sense. When you said 'sister' I thought she was a demigod too. But, you have met Nico! That's great! He's a really nice guy--and he took me out for milkshakes once.

[Puh-lease, this is easy for her to take in. Though...she's trying to figure out how to label the two Loki's in her head, but that's something else for another day.

And now Lucy is glued to the screen of her phone, watching with anticipation...and her patience is rewarded greatly.]

You're a tiny unicorn! [OMG! THIS IS AMAZING! THIS IS UTTERLY AMAZING!

Wait, wait, play it cool.]

I mean..that's...that's pretty amazing. [...Excuse the grin she's trying to suppress right now.]
