[ The video feed opens with a very closed in camera angle of Genji in his full cyborg armor attire. It's impossible to tell what his expression is and it's very much the point. His back and shoulders seem awkwardly stiff, like he forgot how to seem casual all of a sudden. ]

I have... a question. What is the usual protocol when someone here discovers they may be developing an 'ability'— [ Finger quotes and all. ] —that they did not have before? Because—

[ Genji’s words are cut short abruptly by a shriek that could only belong to his darling roommate. Then hurried steps across hardwood floors can be heard before the phone is seized from Genji’s hands and into view comes Hana, who looks a bit red-nosed and glassy-eyed. Her brows are furrowed as she peers into the camera, frown pulling at her lips. ]

We. Need. Help!

[ Then the view switches to the phone’s outer camera, which reveals that their surroundings - their apartment - is just crawling with vines, leaves, flowers, everything. In the center of this view is Hana’s neon-lit, super souped up gaming rig, which the plants are slowly creeping onto. ]

Genji has plant magic now and— eh-chyi [ that’s a sneeze, apparently ] I’m dying. They’re attacking me!

[ It's obvious now why Genji was so visibly awkward. He clears his throat, it sounding like static through his helmet modulation. ]

It is not quite as... urgent, but. Any advice or assistance would be appreciated. [ He picks off a little plant seedling that was growing in the crevices of his armor. ] And maybe any recommendations for good allergy medicine as well...?

[ Shigeru will sigh a little and look flustered, awkward, and uncertain all at once. He doesn't want Genji to get hurt either but at least he feels a bit better about the whole thing. ]

I-I know. It's just...I want you to get better. [ He doesn't want to disrupt Genji getting better. ]

I don't want to...ruin any of that. So whatever you think would be easiest...I-I'll do it.

I will, don't worry. I have weathered worse storms than this. It is just... confusing? [ He tilts his head a little. ] And I suppose I would have liked to have been asked first, but.

[ He smiles. ]

You being here by my side is perfect. And with the food.

[ Then opens his mouth like some kind of goofy cyborg bird, to lighten the mood. ]

_{[ lol Genji got his reference and that makes him actually smile. Broooo. ]}

Why would I want vegetables when I could have strawberries, aaa? Have you ever even had a strawberry before? How about strawberry cake? That's the most superior food group.

[ Genji notices that smile. Aw. Bros. He huffs and tries to not act like he's smiling too.

But then he makes a face. ]

I'm reasonably sure strawberry cake is not it's own food group. But it is quite good. Although I was always partial to taiyaki as a child.

This place never really asks us much before anything they do, does it? [ Shigeru smiles as he gets another fork full of food ready for Genji. ]

Oh? Well th-that's good. I-I really like being with you. It...it would have been really difficult to stay away...

[ Is he blushing? He sure is... ]

_{[ Gintoki grunts as he continues to rip the vines out with his bare hands, beginning to form a little pile of them next to him. He avoids the bigger ones for now, but in a moment, he'll cut them up real good with his bokken.
His bokken-- it looks pretty dull, but it can slash through steel. Looks are deceiving. ]}

Yeah? I was always partial to _{[ you guessed it ]} strawberry cake. It wasn't as easy to come by when I was a kid though.

_{[ cause he was orphaned and lost and poor and was in the middle of a war, so.. ]}
