[ The video feed opens with a very closed in camera angle of Genji in his full cyborg armor attire. It's impossible to tell what his expression is and it's very much the point. His back and shoulders seem awkwardly stiff, like he forgot how to seem casual all of a sudden. ]

I have... a question. What is the usual protocol when someone here discovers they may be developing an 'ability'— [ Finger quotes and all. ] —that they did not have before? Because—

[ Genji’s words are cut short abruptly by a shriek that could only belong to his darling roommate. Then hurried steps across hardwood floors can be heard before the phone is seized from Genji’s hands and into view comes Hana, who looks a bit red-nosed and glassy-eyed. Her brows are furrowed as she peers into the camera, frown pulling at her lips. ]

We. Need. Help!

[ Then the view switches to the phone’s outer camera, which reveals that their surroundings - their apartment - is just crawling with vines, leaves, flowers, everything. In the center of this view is Hana’s neon-lit, super souped up gaming rig, which the plants are slowly creeping onto. ]

Genji has plant magic now and— eh-chyi [ that’s a sneeze, apparently ] I’m dying. They’re attacking me!

[ It's obvious now why Genji was so visibly awkward. He clears his throat, it sounding like static through his helmet modulation. ]

It is not quite as... urgent, but. Any advice or assistance would be appreciated. [ He picks off a little plant seedling that was growing in the crevices of his armor. ] And maybe any recommendations for good allergy medicine as well...?

[ Once the transmission is over, Hana just. Puts her hands on Genji's shoulders. ]

Genji, I love you, [ sniff sniff ] but if your plant powers destroy my gaming gear you're going to have to buy me new ones.

[ Genji is just slowly dying inside from a mélange of embarrassment, shame and confusion. He didn't think it would get this bad?! And he feels bad for Hana's poor sinuses.

He huffs a very dramatic sigh. ]

I know, and I will. I'm sorry about whatever this is. [ He flicks more little plant leaves out from his shoulders and stands up.

And unsheathes his shurikens and goes about trying to tend to some of the encroaching hoard of green around her computer. ]

_{[ Hana may see this situation as catastrophic, but Gintoki only sees their apartment covered in vines a job opportunity. We'll get into that in a just a second. ]}

[ He replies after his conversation with Hana, helmet finally removed.

Oh... goodie, it's Gintoki-kun. ]

If you genuinely know of someone who can help me gain control of this, I'm all ears. If you're just going to make anime references like usual...

[ Cisco doesn't notice the video on the network right away. A few minutes pass before he checks his phone, sees with amusement that Genji has posted a video, and then hits play. Once he's watched the whole thing, he snaps into action. They're obviously going to have to do some investigating later into the hows and whys of all this, but for now, the important thing is making sure that Hana's gaming rig doesn't get completely torn apart, or their house so imbued with pollen that she won't be able to breathe in it for days.

He grabs the extra set of power-dampening handcuffs he keeps in his workshop and runs the entire way to Genji and Hana's place. He's out of breath when he pounds on the door, noticing that there are some vines which have managed to wind their way out between the front door and the threshold. ]

Genji! Hana! Somebody open up, it's me!

[ Hana, meanwhile, is just going to sneeze one or five times in a row before she flops down, with a groan, onto the couch where Pacchan has been napping nonchalantly this whole time. ]

[ Genji has been trying to tend to the hoard to no avail, when there's that pounding on the door. When it's Cisco's voice, Genji heads over to the door and answers it.

When he sees the handcuffs in Cisco's hand, since his face is uncovered he'll see Genji's brows raise up to his hairline. He greets him dully but sarcastically. ]

Ah, yes, my life of crime has finally caught up with me.

[flowlikewater]

[ Oh god, wipe that grin off your face please. Genji kind of tunes out the first part, although he does kind of have a good suggestion tucked away in there. ]

Getting away from the apartment could be a good idea...

[ He pauses and raises a brow, tilting his head. ]

...are you implying you want to clean my house, Gintoki-kun?

Odd Jobs Gin-Chan knows no limit. I'll help you out with whatever you need help with... along with the proper payment.

[ He's beginning to wonder if trying to cut them is making it worse. Or maybe it's his frustration... he isn't sure. ]

I will not let you die, Hana. [ A sigh, a grumble. ] I do not understand why it is suddenly so bad, I did not think... maybe it's one of my plants and not me. I don't feel any different— But I haven't gotten any new ones lately—

[ He's more chatty than usual, which just goes to show how frustrated he is. Genji sighs again. ]

At least Pacchan isn't bothered.

[ Hana just levels an unimpressed look at him as she shifts her own phone's camera over to give him a view of Pacchan, who's just casually napping on the couch while his humans panic (one more than the other). ]

Yeah, I did, and we're very happy together thank you.

[ Hana is draped over the couch by the time Cisco arrives, but she does manage to sit up and glance over at him once she realizes it's him and after Genji opens the door.

She immediately squints at the handcuffs. ]

Dude, you and Genji both have boyfriends and I'm dying can you please not—

[ please stop her ]

[ Cisco is out of breath, gasping out the joke as he steps in the door. He is overly cautious of setting his feet down too near to any of those slowly-coiling vines. Right now, he's very much having flashbacks to all the times he watched Jumanji as a kid and they're not making this any less nerve-wracking.

Because he's being so careful where he steps, he doesn't notice Hana on the couch, and looks up sharply when she speaks, his face flushing as he stutters out: ]

Hana! It's not- look, okay- this is the best I could do on short notice! C'mere, gimme your hands.

[ He motions for Genji to hold out his wrists and, if he does, will snap the cuffs onto them, which will trigger the internal sensor and activate the power-dampening field which will (hopefully) work on whatever is making Genji control this torrent of greenery. ]

[ Dully. ] 'Odd Jobs Gin-chan'? Really?

[ But he sighs and rubs at the bridge of his nose. He doesn't really dislike Gintoki, just finds him very... eccentric. To put it nicely. But if he's really offering to help them out in the midst of this mini-crisis—; ]

That would be helpful though. And of course I would pay you for your trouble. [ He drops his hand, expression relaxing into a very tired looking one. ] I appreciate the offer.

[ Genji is the plant expert here, not Hana! Hana is just here for the theatrics. She rolls over onto her tummy on the couch, effectively jostling Pacchan out of her peaceful sleep and causing her to have to shift, ultimately ending up curled up in a ball on Hana's legs before she just falls right back to sleep. Or she would, if not for the fact that Hana's oncoming sneeze attack jolts her into awakeness again. ]

I don't know why I'm getting this bad, too! I'm not allergic to plants - or I wasn't. Ugh.

[ Genji's cheeks turn a little red themselves at Hana's joke, and the plants seem to pulse with his flash of emotion. ]

Hana, we can make dirty jokes later.

[ He recovers quickly though and peers at Cisco as he approaches with the cuffs, a light bulb going off in his head. ] Ah, yes! These, I've heard of them. Good idea.

[ The cuffs are slapped on him and after a second the flowers and foliage seem to just sort of... stop. Whatever was making them feel alive slowly peters out and they seem to return to stationary, normal plants.

Genji, on the other hand, feels a little weird. Not sick, just odd... like he's off balance. He shrugs his shoulders like something is crawling along his spine. ]

...is my back supposed to itch?
