I don't know how many people celebrate this, but today is Pi Day. Pi is a mathematical constant, with the first three numbers being three, one and four. Most people just celebrate by baking or eating pies. I made one for my daughter's math class.

Pi itself is actually very fascinating, though. It was originally defined as the ratio of a circle's circumference, but now it's used in many formulas in math and physics. Its decimal presentation never settles into a permanent repeating pattern.

But, ah... I'm sure most people just care about the pie.

Hm, let me see. [he takes out his appointment book, looking through it]

Yes, it looks like I'm free.

[winscenario]

You mean right now? [ He raises an eyebrow, lips quirking into a smirk. ] You did say the follow-up should be in a few days.

[jolting]

Well, all right. If you really want to wait, I'll fit you in somewhere else.

[winscenario]

[ He can't bite back a snort and an open laugh at that. ]

I wouldn't have minded waiting either way, but right now works just perfectly. I can fit you in somewhere too. [ Wink. ]

[jolting]

I'm sure. Just... I don't want to rush you, but I need to be home in time to make dinner for Lucy.

[winscenario]

Right. [ For a split second, he seems almost surprised. He glances away (checking the time), then looks back to the screen with a smile. ]

How about we leave it for tomorrow, then? I'm not sure I can make it there anytime soon today. We'd be cutting it too close at best.

[jolting]

[his smile comes out a bit more awkward] Or maybe I can drop in on you at work tomorrow. See this moon scanning for myself.

[winscenario]

[ His smile widens, softer and warmer, and he nods at the doctor. ] I'd like that. Very... very much.

[jolting]

[he matches the warmth in James's smile] Then I'll be there.

[a pause, and then] Do you have to wear a uniform?

[winscenario]

Well, it's not mandatory, but usually I'm wearing either the Perimeter Guard uniform, or the flight suit for the aerial branch. Why?

[jolting]

You've seen me in full lab coat glory. I'd just like to see what you wear to work.

Wouldn't mind seeing you in your starship captain uniform either, come to think of it.

[winscenario]

That can be arranged. Well, not the Starfleet uniform, sadly. I didn't come to the Quarantine wearing it, and it seemed a little too excessive to have it tailored just because.

[ He shrugs. ] I have my Delta insignia, but that's about it.

[jolting]

Hm, lucky I was wearing my old lab coat when I came here. Getting it would probably be "too excessive".

But maybe you can tell me what it looks like and I can sketch a picture.

[winscenario]

Aw, come on. Now you're making me want to get it.

I could just sketch you a picture, myself.

[jolting]

[chuckles] Not intentional, I promise.

Hm, you could. I admit I'm curious to see how you'd draw yourself.

[winscenario]

I was just gonna do the uniform, actually. But... alright, I can try to do that too.

[jolting]

You mean like model for me? [he can't help smirking]

[winscenario]

[ He lets out a soft chuckle. ]

Actually, if you want me to model for you, I wouldn't mind that at all.

[jolting]

[he wets his lips] Then I insist on it.

[winscenario]

Well, if the doctor insists... [ He winks, a little playful. ] Whenever you wanna do it, just let me know. Or surprise me. I'll make sure to keep myself looking my best, just in case.

[jolting]

That shouldn't be too hard. I'm not sure it's possible for you to look any other way.

[winscenario]

Flattery will get you everywhere. [ He smiles endearingly, though. ] We're a good match in that aspect, you and I.

[jolting]

That is the idea. [he smiles warmly] I think so, too.

[winscenario]

Smooth, aren't you. [ Smiling wide, he winks at Victor. ]

I'll see you tomorrow, then? Feel free to come by anytime, by the way.

[jolting]
