[The video starts with her bare hand pulling away from the lens to reveal a woman in her young thirties sitting cross-legged on the edge of a high-rise building's roof. She's replacing her glove out of habit, and is otherwise covered from neck to toe. The stark white patch gives her identity away to anyone who may be from either her universe, or a similar one. At least, that's her hope.

She had debated whether to do this post via text or audio, but she's learned that hiding behind anonymity when trying to reach out to distrustful and likely persecuted people didn't tend to go over well. And this mutant Avenger wants this to go over well.

Clearing her throat, Rogue places her hands on either knee. Time to talk to the people and hopefully do right by Charles.]

Some of y'all might know me from home, or a similar alternate universe that's got the Avengers and people with strange and amazing powers. [She reaches up to tap her hair in an almost salute.] For those who don't, ah'm Rogue and back home ah'm known as the leader of the Avengers Unity Squad, a group of hero-types made up of humans, inhumans, and mutants put together by very one star spangled individual.

[The PR Squad trying to show the world that all the folks with superpowers could make nice and get along. Nevermind that Cap disbanded it for not coloring between the lines.

Without seemingly any effort, Rogue levitates above her concrete perch.]

That bein' said, before ah became an Avenger ah was part of the X-Men. [So mutant.] Back home we run a boarding school, helpin' those with powers learn how to control them and use them for good movin' forward. It a sanctuary, and ah'd like to organize somethin' like that here.

[Pushing her hair out of her face, she quieted a moment as though considering something else.
In the end, she chooses to simply smile and leave the threats for when she actually maybe has students to protect.]

Now don't feel you got to answer with video, or publicly. Ah get havin' a secret identity and truth be told ah might already know you back home without knowin' you here. [She shrugs. Tough cookies y'all.] It'll be weird, but in our line of work, weird is the baseline. Regardless, ah ain't gonna spill the beans, but feel free to take any non-aggressive preventative measures you want when contacting me.

[Or take aggressive measures. She doesn't appear worried about that option as she cuts the feed.]

This is not just limited to mutants, but she is definitely looking for other mutants. [Rogue shakes her head 'no' at the first question, and pauses only briefly between the next two questions, only to continue her head shaking, an apologetic smile growing over her features.

She strikes out, but she made the video to help, so she'll try her best.]

Ah'm a mutant. Homo sapiens superior to be all scientific. As for magic, ah'm kind of garbage at it when ah pick it up, but ah know a few people here that might be able to help if they're so inclined.

[Might, and that's very much up to them. She raises a finger and becomes more serious.]

But ah can assure you that there's always a "catch", [Yes she does air quotes.] 'specially when it comes to magic. Balance is necessary.

[No one has been telling him good things about the future. Mostly he's heard about things like Bucky dying and everyone falling apart. This is brand new and actually reassuring.]

You aren't, unless there are other worlds with X-Men and Avengers in them. But that might be too much of a coincidence even for us.

You know it. It's what the world needed though. Red Skull came back after Charles Xavier was murdered. Stole the telepathic part of his brain.

[He's from just after Steve gave his shield back to Bucky, to let him continue being Cap, not that that's lasted here. He knows a little bit about his farther future, but everything he hears just makes him dread it more.]

[It's a word that takes a little different meaning for Shalimar, but one that conveys the same sense of belonging. And while she hasn't felt too threatened here, she's also old enough and experienced enough to know she can handle things.

I gotta say, a boarding school would've been a better place than some of where I ended up as a kid. But sure, you need an extra pair of hands I know a thing or two about getting through to the scared and confused.

(Yeah, his username's not subtle.

He's wary, though, even though they've spoken at work, Brennan hasn't used his powers where others could see. It...wasn't smart back home, and here, well, he's still getting used to here. The idea of an organization, though, something familiar? That's enough to get his attention.)

So...I guess it's confession time...sort of. I just...our worlds are similar...I think, but...pretty different, too.

(He pauses for a moment.)

Can you tell me more about the X-Men? (Before I tell you about Mutant X?)

[With the username, she's almost expecting it to be Ororo. Perhaps she's a bit hopeful, but who would blame her? The masculine voice douses any consideration that it's Storm.

They hadn't spoken much at work, which is why she doesn't recognize his voice, though there's something vaguely familiar about it. Maybe it's his hesitancy to trust, but his obvious knowledge of what the X-Men meant. She can tell that much at least. Everything else was an educated guess.]

Well ah hope it ain't different in a bad way.

[Her instinct tells her otherwise.]

The X-men are a group of mutants that fight for peace. [Superheroes, but she doesn't say that.] More importantly, they teach young or inexperienced mutants how to use their powers--give 'em a home if they need one.

[A beat.]

What do you know 'bout mutants and X-Men sugah?

[Well, she had avoided saying directly who she was, what she was — but the temptation has been gripping her heart since the day in the elevator. So with that in mind... She supposes she should try to... make connections with her kind, wherever and whenever they may appear. After all, in her world there may very well be only mutants like the Transigen children left; if not that, then... there aren't enough mutants around anymore for it to be typical comfort.

She picks at the stray fabric on her jean jacket.]

I am one, too. I'm a mutant.

[She's not sure if Rogue figured as much, but she might as well just get it out there.]

My father was in the X-Men.

[The privacy setting piques her curiosity at first, but when the video shows Laura, Rogue offers her a warm smile. She didn't know exactly, but she had heavy suspicions given the young girl's behavior. It had a certain familiarity to it. Regardless, it was not her place to push Laura for secrets about herself that she didn't feel comfortable enough to share with a relative stranger.

The second statement catches her breath, and the split moment of surprise fades to understanding as it clicks. She knew Wolverine long enough, not to mention experienced his powers first hand, to pick up on the little things. That and to be honest, Logan got around even before scientists used his genetics to make clones. That being said, she knows of X-23, at least in her world. This wasn't the same girl.

Her friend's death, despite everything that has happened, still affects her, and Rogue picks up the past tense immediately.]
