The festival was cute. Nice little distraction for all of us who got dropped here out of nowhere.

We’re stuck here and have to get used to it. Sure. But who knows the best place to check out fresh foods and spices? I need samples. May as well be eating whatever they give me blindfolded until I know what’s in it. They could be feeding us alien donkey balls for all we know.

Just because we’re stuck in another world doesn’t mean we have to eat like heathens.

There's a few places I like to shop for ingredients. I prefer prepare all of my own food.

Nothing better than what you know you made with your own hands. Unless you spent all day making shit for everybody and their mama. Sometimes you want a little break, and I ain't getting that unless I know anything and everything.

[Not to mention that he's a bit of an overachiever with work and being able to scout new places for the best produce and cuts will definitely help with his new job as a sous chef. It's hard to do well when you don't know half the shit your kitchen is supposed to make.]

I rarely cook for anyone else. Unfortunately,
the only way to really know is to make it yourself. There's easy things to do, I"m sure.

Not the only way, but def the easiest. Once I've had my hands in it more it'll be easier.

Yeah my hands. Best way to figure out how to work with an ingredient is to touch it, feel it, mix with your own two hands. I'm not the reading first type.

That would be baking. Fuck up some measurements and that cake ain't coming out the way you intended.

A bit. Baking isn't something I do as much. It's a different kind of pretty to the prep that goes into the best-looking and tasting dijon salmon.

If the food ain't great, it ain't worth it. No reason to eat shit if you can get something quality instead, even if it means putting in the extra work yourself.

Everyone should know what they eat. We'll agree on that. But I'll take my research and be able to get a break once in a while, too.
