The festival was cute. Nice little distraction for all of us who got dropped here out of nowhere.
We’re stuck here and have to get used to it. Sure. But who knows the best place to check out fresh foods and spices? I need samples. May as well be eating whatever they give me blindfolded until I know what’s in it. They could be feeding us alien donkey balls for all we know.
Just because we’re stuck in another world doesn’t mean we have to eat like heathens.

for real, don't knock donkey balls. long as it tastes alright, you got nothin to complain about.
[This man literally eats garbage when he gets the craving. Or just feeling cheap.]

[And he sends the location as well as a link to the market's website, since he's getting the hang of this internet & pseudo-iphone thing.]
So far I've been able to find equivalents to most shit from home, plus some new stuff. Careful about the spices if you're not used to that sorta thing.

Noted. I can hold my own against some spices. I know my limits. Anything not worth trying?

@damen, text
Have you found the food to be that terrible? Everything I've tried has been wonderful so far. Save, perhaps, my own attempts at cooking.
[Then again, Damen is used to having a royal chef and has never cared much about what ingredients go into his food as long as he enjoys the taste.]

I've been going to these shops.

[Not to mention that he's a bit of an overachiever with work and being able to scout new places for the best produce and cuts will definitely help with his new job as a sous chef. It's hard to do well when you don't know half the shit your kitchen is supposed to make.]

the only way to really know is to make it yourself. There's easy things to do, I"m sure.

@endsoftheearth, voice;
We're not stuck here. [There's the faintest bristling in his voice. The subject is near and dear to his heart.] Not really. You just have to work for a while, then they'll try and send you back to wherever you came from.
[How long 'a while' is remains to be seen and will ultimately end up the mootest of moot points for Somebody when Somebody figures out he shouldn't go back to 'wherever he came from' but hey conversation.]

Bruh, if you are somewhere that you are not able to leave until someone else finds a way to get you out, that's called stuck. I'll send you a link to the dictionary if you need it.
no subject
[He might actually need a dictionary. If for nothing else, to discretely look up new words like "bruh".]
I understand what you mean, I'm just saying... We're not stuck stuck. [Argues semantics all day long. Or for at least another couple minutes.] It's not a permanent kind of stuck. You don't have to just... accept it all and get used to everything and... make this place your new home. If you don't want to.
[Pause.]
A lot of people seem to want to.

We're lucky to have as much variety of food as there is. Where I'm from, some people only have salted fish to eat.
[For months on end, no less. If Ivar never ate another strip of salted fish meat in his life, it would be all too soon.]
