[The feed pops on to show Undertaker lounging on a suspended wooden bench on what looks like the front of a store or a building or some kind. Those who know the place better will recognize that he's actually sitting on the front porch swing of his home. He's quite casual today, leaning into the arm of the swing, chewing lightly on some kind of stick in his mouth - maybe pocky? Who knows?]

As I'm sure you all know, the cafe is going quite well, but I want to see it expand and make more of itself. I hear that people with certain hobbies or interests like to meet in establishments like this once a week or so to discuss and get to know. So I want to hear about it.

You don't necessarily need my permission to come into the store, but as your host, I'd like to know what it is you would like to see out of the cafe. Something like a hobby night once a week, or something else? I'm all ears.

A future need - ? [That is fairly alarming, though hardly surprising.] Either is unforgivable. We're not ants or unfeeling toys! I cannot bow to such a cruel creator.

[somakemelaugh]

I should hope not. Maybe I'm just a precaution. [As so many people will hope. No one wants to die, after all. Not normally.] Oh, they figured that out eventually. After destroying our entire race and starting over again. You see, they forgot the soul part of the thing, but once that came about, it was so much more difficult to just end a life because it wasn't working.

[heavenfell]

A precaution without an obvious reason...at the moment. [But reasons can quickly be engineered and she has seen mountains of corpses before.] So a soul is a...safe-guard? I've never looked at them like that.

[somakemelaugh]

Indeed. [So they can. But he's not looking to stir that pot, not yet.] Yes and no. For all that they are, soul themselves are difficult to destroy entirely. Maybe god didn't know it when he created them, but someone must have. After all, there isn't only the one god, much as some sects like to believe otherwise. Ah, but that's all a story for another time.

It's strange to imagine more than one god. I do not think another one exists in my world. [Which is good.] Unless angels and demons count as deities.

[somakemelaugh]

[He giggles and shrugs.] In some ways, I suppose. Humans certainly do worship them enough to be mistaken for one. I don't know yours, but I've seen angels and demons with little more than a few flashy tricks and superhuman strength and that's all to their claims. I've also seen the same thing in circus acts here and there. The gods? I didn't think there was more than one of them myself. Figured the other cultures were just wrong, as men do when they don't understand. Who knew?

[heavenfell]

That's true. [Misguided worship, in her opinion, as humans have all they need within themselves.] Must I prove my race to you? I do not rely on "flashy tricks".

[No, she fights with everything she has to do what she believes is right.]

If you insist. I'd like to see for myself, my sight being what it is, but it isn't a necessity. To be quite honest, I care little for race these days, especially in this city. You're not a demon and you're not a god and that's enough for me.

[heavenfell]

Your vision is poor? [A shame. He is a very handsome man.] Why do you have a grievance against demons and gods?

[somakemelaugh]

Terrible. [A grin. He won't say much more on it for now.] I'm a grim reaper. It was once my job working under a god to take souls of the dead and dying to where they were meant to go, so that they wouldn't be eaten by demons. I've not seen one or the other that I liked in all that time, though the gods were less of a pest.

[heavenfell]

You handle yourself well without it. [She would have never guessed.] If your kind exist in my world, we must have crossed paths many times.

I found some demons to be quite useful, but you're right, they can be pests.

[somakemelaugh]

Why, thank you. [He had to. Not much choice in the matter, being on the run and all.] Oh, there's no doubt that you have. You're our sort of managers, when you deem it necessary to step in or when you're just bored.

[He'll ponder that and shrug a shoulder.] Useful, in a way, I suppose, but only for so long. It's a lesser of the two evils game. How long are they useful until they start to become harmful?
