I would like to know what your name would be, and if it suits you. Mine does not, but I guess that's because my name is... already my name. Serious answers only please. I think this is a good opportunity to get to know some of you better, and maybe make some friends.



...speaking of which, it's my birthday, and if anyone would like to join me for some sweets, I'd appreciate the company.

I'll find my way there.

Just, when you get there, I won't be able to talk. It can get a little weird, but I'm getting better at communicating in other ways.

No problem, my dude. Maybe you understand the animal speak I learned in a world? Either way, I'm good with it.

If not, then I at least get a chance to practice my charades.

[ True to his word, there is a very large, brown wolf lounging under a tree in the park. He's still getting used to being quadrupedal, but it gets easier with time. He's still a little salty about the whole thing, and the fact that he still doesn't have an explanation, but he's learning to be patient.

It's nice in the shade of the tree, with the grass underneath him, and he lays his head down as he waits. He's conspicuous enough, he assumes, that he doesn't have to keep much of a lookout... ]

[umbrastaff]

[ Lup appears with a little snap of energy in the park, feeling lazy enough to teleport there. Curious, she looks around until she spots the large wolf under the tree - and her face brightens with both happiness and curiosity. ]

Hi there, puppy! [ She says and waves at him before coming over. No need to startle huge predators, after all. ]

Damn you are a big one! It's been some time since a I saw a big wolf like you.

[ Holding out her hand for him to sniff, she's smiles softly. ]

He's gone, though. You're a nice reminder.

[ 'Puppy' is far from the worst thing he's been called; he'll take it. He also sniffs the proffered hand and gives it a lick-- though he's not really sure why. It just felt like the thing to do.

He's curious about this other wolf, but the lack of verbal communication makes it hard for him to say so. The best he can do is tilt his head to one side, then the other, questioningly. ]

[umbrastaff]

[ That little lick seemed like a good way to know he accepted her pets, so Lup is brushing her hands into the thick fur, rubbing gently.

She didn't miss that questioning look on the wolf's face, though, and she continues to talk as she pets him. ]

Me and my friends have gone to a lot of different worlds. The first one was populated by sapient animals. They were lead by these three gigantic beasts - a bear, a wolf and an owl.

Unfortunately we didn't spend a lot of time with the wolf, though one of my friends learned a lot from the bear. I guess seeing a big wolf just reminded me of it all.

[ Sapient animals -- that's not really that surprising, actually. He shuffles himself a little closer to put his head on her knee, giving a small whine of sympathy.

The petting admittedly feels rather good; he has to make an effort to not get too distracted. ]

[ She keeps petting him, a little distracted herself. It was nice, and he was adorable. ]

I don't think I've ever met any lycanthrope who was this okay with getting snuggled. Thanks for this, I think I needed it.

[lykou]

[ Well, he does pride himself on being cordial, if nothing else. Just to drive the point home, he rolls over onto his back.

In his opinion, it is time for belly rubs; his tongue lolls out playfully in a manner very unbecoming of his species, but he also doesn't really care. ]

[umbrastaff]

[ Oh, she's immediately there to rub his belly, laughing as she does. It was weird to think that this was a normal guy sometimes (and man, that would be awkward to give belly rubs to, she only did that for her own boy) but as a pupper? More than okay.

He's so damn soft, too! Lup stops her petting for a moment and then digs out her phone. ]

Do you mind if I take a picture? I have a friend who loves dogs more than anything... same friend that learned from the bear, actually.

[lykou]

[ Oh hell yeah, those are some good belly rubs. He, too, acknowledges that this would be a lot weirder as a person but...

When asked to take a picture, he immediately rolls back over, paws crossed one over the other, and trying to fluff himself up to look as regal as possible. He mostly just looks silly. Just make sure to get his good side. ]

[ Grinning, Lup takes a whole bunch of photos of the big fluffy wolf, and then one with both her and Ryan in it, thanks to floating the phone with Mage Hand.

Looking back at the werewolf, she chuckles and gives him another gentle rub. ]

Thank for this, my dude. I needed some fluffy therapy. You seem like a really good guy.

[ "Don't mention it", he says, except it comes out more like a yip and friendly growl. He's learning to like this form more and more, and maybe the attention he gets, just a little.

Figuring he might as well make the most of it while he can, he stands, stretching, before trotting off a few steps and looking back over his shoulder, tail wagging.

Saying goodbye is always hard, but especially when you literally can't say it. ]

She waves back at him when he starts to leave, and gives a little wink.

Next time be less fluffy so we can have a drink!

[ With that, she brushes off her clothes a bit and heads home as well. A perfectly lazy afternoon, petting a giant wolf. ]
