( have an address. it's a little out of the way sort of place, a bit dingy and a bit dimly lit, but it works for skye. the beer is cheap, there's a free booth, and surprisingly enough, they have free wifi. okay, so maybe technically the business nearby has free wifi with surprisingly good range and the bar is just handing out the password like somebody else's credit card numbers, but she can work with that. it's not a crime.

when or if blinky decides to leave the pacman game and show up, she'll find skye with a bucket ready to go, her own first beer half-drunk as she aimlessly scrolls through her phone. she's on a friendr spree at the moment, feel free to interrupt. )

( Clarice should probably avoid alcohol and food when she's feeling this shitty, but there's something about being in this place that makes her want to meet people. She's fine, it'll keep her mind off things. Which means she's stomping in later than she'd like ( she can't portal, bad idea ), her biker boots jingling, leather jacket on, weird green eyes scanning the bar for a person she doesn't know.

The girl on the phone seems like a good bet though. ) Skye? ( She's trying not to be weirdly anxious about this. Most people have been pretty good about her obvious mutation. Still, she can't help the nerves. ) It's uh, Clarice. And I realise now that I didn't tell you my name on the network, so Blink?

( Goddamn it, she should be cooler than this. )

( skye can appreciate a well-worn leather jacket. she's not quite There Yet on her journey towards approachable devil-may-care, but she can appreciate a girl who rocks one all the same. her own boots — not quite biker-chic, admittedly — drop off the opposite chair; it's mostly an effort that allows her to sit upright, phone placed face down on the table long enough for her to lift a hand in a casual wave. )

Bingo. ( blink is admittedly a way better superhero name than clarice... but that may be because the only exposure she has to the name is a bad hannibal lecter reference. on the bright side, though, this is a fairly good opportunity to change that. ) That's me.

( said lifted hand sweeps towards the open chairs and the awaiting bucket before coming back to rest on her own bottle, picking it up for a much-needed sip. )

( Clarice is still trying to shake off her wariness for strangers, but the Quarantine is definitely helping. It means instead of just backing out, she's sitting down, unscrewing the top of a bottle. The condensation is a sweet relief from how hot she's feeling, and she's tempted to press it to her forehead.

I just don't want the network to think I'm some kind of grandma. ( Because it's an old, fussy name. ) I have a reputation to uphold. ( She grins a little, leaning her elbows on the table as she takes a long sip from her beer. )

Why did I not know about bucket beer before? ( She will drag everyone down here now. )

It's kind of out of the way, I guess. I didn't notice it at first either.

( no, some kind soul had taken pity on her post-memoria, seeing her stoically sniffly and doing her best not to cry and deciding instead to direct her particular blend of self-loathing and repressed emotions towards the more traditional outlet. ie, booze. that had been a much-needed beer bucket, and now, skye was just passing the torch. )

If it makes you feel better, I've heard worse names. ( like the one they'd slapped on her file back at st agnes' ... ) At least Clarice has some personality.

( even if it does make her wonder if there are knitting needles underneath the jacket. speaking of said jacket: ) You sure you don't want to take that off? You look like you're basically ready to melt.

I can't believe you're already trying to change my aesthetic.

( She'd be so good at instagram, goddamnit. But Clarice does remove her jacket because she is too hot, leaving her in a shirt that looks as though someone's hacked it with scissors. Thankfully there's a tank top underneath. The #aesthetic lives on. )

Gotta say, Skye's a lot nicer. I don't know what my parents were thinking. ( Considering they were somewhat evil, she's going to assume the name was part of the masterplan. ) And, hey! You're Skye in the sky, now.

Maybe they weren't. ( she shrugs; family's a weird subject, but her name's even more so. it's a story she's pretty sure most people don't care enough to hear. ) You don't like what they give you, pick your own. Worked for me.

( the joke earns a soft laugh, though, one that's aimed towards the lip of her beer bottle as she takes another swig. skye in the sky. it's cute, cheesy, the kind of joke she might have made herself in a good mood. maybe. )

( nor is it particularly descriptive. skye hasn't exactly had much opportunity yet to interact with anyone who's chosen an inhuman alter ego, but she's not immune to the impacts of media. superpeople pick their names, don't they? )

I portal. ( It still feels super weird to just offer that out there. ) Pretty much. I can open a door between spaces. I guess that's why Blink came about. One minute I'm there and the next --.
