( No one is moving any buildings. Clarice has just pretending she hasn't got the weird sickness everyone else has. But maybe right now she's definitely heading into delirious category. I have a headache, I guess? But I figured it was just stress? Lots of people at work have been knocked out, so I've been covering.

I do kinda badly with hospitals.

( Mostly because she's a mutant and back home that's not a great thing. She's avoided them pretty much forever. )

I'll drink some water, I'm sure I'm just dehydrated.

Back home? I understand that. But the hospital here is really good, and they treat people from everywhere, which helps.

But it's probably really likely that you're infected. So many people are.

( Logically, she knows that. So far there's been very little said about her mutation, and if people do comment on it, they're more curious than anything else. And yet every time she thinks about seeing someone, a professional someone, her skin erupts in a clammy cold. )

[That sounds suspiciously like a 'no', but Alex doesn't know her well enough to fight her on it. Instead she tries a different tactic.]

Well, they know that it's engineered by someone, and that it's created using a combination of magic and nanites. So far, no one has died despite so many people having been infected and that it all ends in the same way: a few days in a coma.

( Thanks, Alex. Now she has to weigh up being terrified of hospitals against being terrified of unconsciousness. Neither sound appealing. )

Why would somebody do that? Like, what's the point? They're not gaining anything from it. It's not like we all fall asleep and they get to steal our shit. It's just putting a strain on the hospitals, right?

[Alex agreed with that entire thought of 'fuck'. It was something that she'd been thinking of more than once since this whole thing had started, and she hated how many innocent people were getting drawn into it.

I think what the person is doing is trying to make us feel the losses that they felt. I'm pretty sure it's why no one's died yet or something like it. But I can promise that the hospital is safe. Two good friends of mine work there, and they are definitely people that you can trust.​ Yeah, it's a strain but... I mean, better safe than sorry?
