[ Good whatever-fucking-time-it-is-now Riverview! You are being graced with the not-so-rare sight of one Tony Stark after spending too much time in the perimeter defence office throwing himself into work and, if you are to go by the state of his hair and the few smudges of grease on his face, perhaps throwing himself into some of the machinery that can be seen strewn about the place. (It really doesn't look any better from the last time you saw it, Riverview, still a chaotic mess).

With a twitch of his mouth, Tony settles his chin on his folded hands and peers into the feed, eyebrow cocked in a way that made him look equal parts insane and amused.]

So, I have been digging into some random things that I have been able to get my hands on as of late and, overall I have to say I am very impressed with the tech in this place. I mean, sure interdimensional portal and all that, but have you seen some of their basic routeing systems? Well, beyond the shitty ones that like to die and not work and--

[ Shit, wait. There was a reason he was doing this, right.

Tony blinks a few times, shakes his head, and continues.]

Point is, there is a lot I can dig into, lots of things that I can make, but only if I have the parts. So, here's the deal; whoever can bring me scraps of machines and computers, tech that seems mostly useless, please do. In return, I will be more than willing to work with, well, anyone that wants something that is a little harder to come by here.

[ Pushing back, Tony leans back in the chair he is sitting in and runs his hands through his hair.]

While I did say I was out of the weapons manufacturing back home, I can make exceptions here, so if there is something you want in particular, let me know. Within reason, of course.

[ There is a flash of a grin as he leans back in, a quick wink, before the feed cuts out. ]

Less about weapons, more about defence. I am realizing now my wording was, ah-- less than optimal. This is why I need Friday around, to keep me in line.

[ or Rhodey. or Pepper. or-- whatever, they aren't here, his ai isn't fully functioning and Tony just has to deal with the cards he has been given.]

And I will make no promises about leaving semi-sentient coffee pots in the kitchen, because I am not up for making a promise I can't keep.

former weapons manufacturer and dealer sadly, granted it was more like the family legacy. put a stop to it long while back though and took up superheroing. hoped it would save more lives than take them, but--

and i solemnly swear nothing is nefarious. except maybe the toaster i plan on making that will only burn a specific person's bread. but seriously, more for personalized defense ideas.

[Yup. There's a bit of stern edge to Steve's voice. Not anger or outright annoyance, since Tony's decisions are Tony's business, but he's concerned at how this seems to be heading in a very questionable direction. He's seen it before from Tony, and those times led to self-destructive tendencies. Steve can't help the disapproval from showing.]

You can do whatever you need to do, Tony. You just seem to be making more exceptions lately. And the kitchen probably isn't the best place to store everything. I don't know how many more messes it can survive.

[But if Tony says he's fine, then Steve should listen. Should. Probably won't.]

[Does he know who that is? He feels like he should, but Steve doesn't pay that much attention.]

I intend to be back to being an investigator before long, but so long as I'm stuck as a beat cop I'd rather not have to deal with more home-cooked weapons than I would have to. [ Not that she, you know, doesn't carry a short-barreled shotgun and a pistol every single day, because she does, but the point still stands to be made. Going around and playing bad cop for the moment isn't her ideal, and she wants to make sure it isn't all bad, right?

Or at least less complicated than it has to be. ]

I would say I hope people don't have reason to use those kinds of things, but - unfortunately I've been instilled with too much realism from the beginning.

[2B's voice sounds almost routine, like she's very used to this kind of setup. That's despite the fact that this is the first time she and Tony even interact with each other.]

Anything in particular that interests you?

[ Tony blinks at her, the cadence of her speech making Tony almost immediately at ease with her. She sounded like the early versions of Friday, of the AI's he created when he was younger and needed--

The genius laughs a little and peers at the screen.]

Everything really, I am looking for things that can be repurposed into defensive things, as well as parts to recreate a holographic display within a large area. Multiple large areas actually, so the more the better really.

[ He pauses.]

Yes and yes! Especially if you find anything interesting. Which I guess on an alien planet is pretty much everything. If you need help getting it back, I can help. It's really just... getting around finding it honestly.

I am more interested in mechanical machinery, or blatant tech. I have a few ideas for the defence perimeter that is going to need some more tinkering before it is useful. I also promised a mage a gaming console and a dead kid a new espresso machine, so. Want to add anything to the list? Think of it as a barter for finding shit.

[ Clark carries the Kryptonian command key in his pocket everywhere and has no console to use it. He thinks of that immediately. ]

[ pinching the bridge of his nose, Tony tries not to bristle at the tone. he knows that Steve is looking out for him, and that he isn't judging so much as being concerned for Tony's well-being, but-- but it's been so long since someone has cared about him like that, that has known the signs and signals and Tony doesn't really know how to deal with it as gracefully as he used to.

Yeah, not sure I believe that completely there, Steve, but thanks. I mean, I just-- [ I miss feeling like people cared, that I was useful, miss you, miss feeling-- ] I will try not to mess up the kitchen too much. I will have the pieces of a gaming console strewn about though. And a new coffee machine, just a heads up.

[ Tony won't say that she looks a little young for that because he knows that genius and ability don't really care for age. instead he laughs and looks impressed.]

Climbing the ranks quickly then? Nice, and if it makes you feel any better, they aren't home cooked really. Once upon a time, when I was young and naive, I took on contracts with the US military to make weapons for them. So if I did make offensive weaponry, they would at least be professional grade.

I am thinking of inventing a something like a moral AI in the things I make, ensure that the weapons aren't being used in a less than pleasant manner.

It's what I did in my home city. [ She'd been biologically engineered for it, in fact, but she wasn't really sure that was a story that she wanted to get in to with very many people in this place.Enough had been shared about Romdeau, she was sure, at least for the moment in this place to a throng of people who were entirely new and.. well, who the hell knew what they understood about society where she'd come from. Most everything explained to her, thoroughly, how strange her home dome had been compared to what most here were used to.

A dark brow arches as he mentions doing work for the government, and, when he's done, comments dryly: ]

Naiveté will do a lot, for the things people will and will not do - [ Her own list grew smaller by the day she felt like. why the career change?

[Steve does frown at that answer, but it isn't as harsh of a look as one of discomfort. Tony is slipping and Steve is no longer in a place where he can say something without being too forward, pushing into his privacy. It's just not his place.

And he's not willing to start another fight with Tony over things unless he has a good reason for it.]

You have your projects. It's a shared space, and I'm sure everyone will understand that. Just try to keep things within reason.

hullo tony, i'm shai. do you have any plans for policing the use of these weapons you are offering to theoretically make (within reason)? or are you relying on the good intentions of everything the cat's dragged in here?

[In all honesty she doesn't give a shit if he makes them or if people misuse them, she is far and away from being that altruistic. But: call her curious. She wants to know if there are contingencies in place.]

Never, Miss. Maximoff, never. Though they sound like that might actually be useful to me. They will be able to untangle wires and... sorting small pieces of scrap. Or bolts! You know, perhaps the mice sitting won't be too bad. They won't try to sing or anything, will they?

[ he doesn't know much about them, but with the way that she's trying to get them out of her hair, Tony can't be too careful.]
