[ Loki hesitates. ]

[She stops walking towards her home, opting to detour to the park. It's open, it's quiet (for the most part), and it would give them a place to talk. If she had any money, and were older to have such funds, she would've taken him to the diner that Nico used to take her to. She missed the demi-god a lot...

Lucy doesn't mind waiting, but she is quick to send a text to her Dad's to let them know she was at the park, meeting up with a friend.]

[ Loki appears in a shimmer of green and gold light, dressed in his usual black suit, a green scarf hanging around his shoulders. He looks normal, for the most part. A little more subdued though he manages a threadbare smile at her. ]

Ah. Lucy.

[Any other day, his coloring would've reminded her of Slytherin from Harry Potter, but not now. Not when she heard he and Thor aren't talking and that's not good. They were siblings and siblings should stick together....]

Hey.. [She manages a weak smile of her own and quickly moves in to hug him.]

...I meant it. I'm sorry you and your brother are fighting.

[Formalities be damned, everyone needs a hug during sad or stressful times.]

[ Oh. Loki tentatively loops his arms around her, a little awkward. ]

It's not . . . his fault.

[She's not placing judgement on it. It's more important to her to see that he's okay.]

But...I'm still sorry. Family shouldn't fight with one another.

[She's not asking him for details, but she wants to let him know she's there for him.]

Perhaps. But I was never much of anyone's family.

[ Abandoned and then used. Brought about the destruction of everything he loved. Maybe it was inevitable. ]

[That's....that's really sad and it makes Lucy hug Loki tighter.]

You could be part of my family.

[ Loki chuckles in depreciation. ]

I don't think that's a good idea.

[She looks up at him with confusion and sadness in her eyes.]

Why? You...you could be my cool uncle or something. Everyone should have a family.

If I was meant for such things, I wouldn't keep ruining it at every opportunity.

[ Thor shouldn't forgive him. No one should. ]

People--even Gods mess up. My grandmother was like that...

She was so used to being evil and ruining things that...it took time to get used to being around people and trusting them.

It wasn't too late for her, and it's not too late for you either.

[ Loki shakes his head. ]

I just can't see it.

Regina couldn't see it either, but...just give it time.

[She's pleading with him not to give up.]

[ He doubts time will do much. If anything, time has aptly proven that Loki cannot escape the cycle. So it's best to shatter his bonds than to hold onto them. ]

Perhaps.

No... [lucy shakes her head.]

You need to believe it, or else it won't work.

[She has faith in him, really, she does.]

Please don't give up, Loki.

I — I don't know.

If my grandma's can get along--the Evil Queen and the Savior, then I know you're meant to have a family, that you belong in one. [And that in time, he could make things up with Thor.]

[ Finally he nods slowly. Loki isn't keen on fixing the rift with Thor just yet . . . but maybe. ]

[The nod is enough for her and she relaxes her grip on him.]

...good...

[A beat as she looks down a bit shyly.]

...can I still think of you as a cool uncle?

[ His lips quirk. ]

Of course. I make for an exemplary cool uncle.

[There's a faint smile on her face as she hugs him tightly for another moment. As long as he believes, then surely, things will work out.]

I would say so.

[Pulling back a little.]

I mean...I don't know much about Thor, but I think you're probably the cooler God of the two.

[ Huh. ]

Have you never met Thor?

[She has to think for a moment, but then shakes her head.]

Not in person, no.

[ Well. Loki doesn't mind keeping it that way. ]

I suppose he is rather busy of late.
