I guess it depends on your personal philosophy? My pal Brian would say that there is no real point, and therefore the only point that exists is the one we choose to make for ourselves.
He's a nihilistic brain in a jar, so feel free to take that however you want, but I agree with him about it needing to be something you decide for yourself, even if I don't subscribe to his entire viewpoint.
I don't think there is one unless you set goals for yourself. If you want to be a mopey piece of shit for the rest of your life I guess that's your prerogative. Or you can you know, make different decisions. Be more driven.
It's not something you can really force? Maybe you'll find it, maybe it'll come to you on it's own. I think the key is going out and creating opportunities for that to happen. Try to become the best at something you already know how to do, or learn something you don't. Join a club, or take a class.
just a little. not that that bugs me or anything cliches are cliches for a reason yknow?
idk anything about existentialism or philosophy or whatever man I guess my questions less about the meaning of life and more like how do you keep going after your people leave?
good ideas. I could always try harder to get new hobbies or whatever, but I'm pretty good with the stuff I'm already good at. not the best but probably the best HERE.
but I'm one of those unlucky bastards whose point is usually people not stuff or activities yknow?
never been super great with goals tbh. I think I rely too much on people and not passions or hobbies or goals or whatever, I'm not the ambitious sort. makes it kind of rough when people leave tho
Oh yeah, exactly! And I'm REALLY not equipped to handle any 'meaning of life' questions, so i might as well let cliches speak for me.
[ But like... okay, that's a serious question that merits a serious, thoughtful response, so here's Jeff doing his best: ]
I guess it helps to find something to put yourself into. I don't mean a hobby exactly, or another person. More like a cause or a passion? Something that'll help you get to know your community, however you might define it.
That's what I did when I was taken from my people and dropped here. It was get out and make new connections, or isolate, which never leads to anything good.
As one of my best friends would say bad habits only lead to bitterness and regret.
[ The name of that friend? Roy Harper. Of course, those words of wisdom were in connection to Roy's own substance abuse problems, but Wally thinks they can apply here as well. ]
If you don't mind me asking how did things fall apart this time?

Or maybe it's totally flippant. Tone can be so hard to read over text-- doubly so when the texter-- textee?-- is anonymous. ]
Like in general? Or in the immediate... now...

in general. now. whenever

I don't think anyone else can answer that for you. It's something you got to figure out yourself.
The key is to keep moving forward until you do.

I guess I just don't know where to go from here wrt making a point. I keep losing it.
@anonymous (until otherwise noted)
you got any ideas?
@anonymous (until otherwise noted)
moving forward is hard
@anonymous (until otherwise noted)
so if there's no point, then what?

It is hard. But things can get better if you give it a shot.

Or is 'there is no point' the bigger cliche? (i don't believe there's no point FYI!! I don't think i've ever been on board with existentialism
IS that existentialism?
i've also never been on board with philosophy i guess)

I suppose, you could always get a new hobby.
no subject
if they're fucking around and causing shit for your life
might not be friends
if they left
well
shit happens
no subject
how to enjoy it while you're here
yeah making it so I'm relying on myself or a cause or whatever instead of people would be better.
new connections huh? you have any luck with that?
no subject
but he was still my best friend no question
shit happens huh?
guess so.

I'm doing my best with it anyway
my best friend went home.
didn't even say good-bye
no subject
maybe. I have a few ideas about resurrecting an old one that's not destructive
no subject
Oh?

So he die or leave?
Only options here for that, if you consider him a best friend still
