[Gyda's outside near  the home she shares now with Lola. It's early morning and really, she should be at school, but she's still in something of a mood.]

For those who knew him, or worked on patrol guard with him, Ivar the Boneless has gone back home. [She fiddles with the arm band on her wrist; silver and copper and made into the shape of a serpent.]Winter and his pokemon have also left.

[She's not sure what else to say.] He already said goodbye to those he was closest too, but I wanted to let those he fought with to also know, so they don't wonder what happened.

Not really. [She's too worn out to give a courtesy answer.] But he was able to say goodbye and gave me an arm ring. That was something my father and Athelstan couldn't do when they left her.

I'm living with Lola, and Ms. Jenna keeps check on me.

Good. I'd hate to see you there all alone.

I just no longer have any family. Ivar was the first person I met when I arrived here, now he's gone.

I'm so sorry. I know that's got to be hard.

But you're definitely not alone, okay?

It's not the same. Ivar knew the way of our people, it seems I have to try extra hard now not to forget.

Maybe there’s books or something that can help you so that you don’t have to worry about it?

There are some, but I've read a few. They get a few things right, but it's almost silly to read what I've already lived through.

Well, you don't need to do it like homework. Just if you get worried you're missing something!

[She thinks a moment. What she says almost makes sense.] They have audio books in what's called icelandic. That sounds very similar to how we speak at home.

That sounds like it’s good. Is there anyone here who speaks your home language? Or someone you can teach it too?

If there is, I haven't met them, either speaking or someone to instruct. I'm told it's a difficult language to learn, and there's little point in knowing because it's rather obscure.

That's fair. But just because something's obscure doesn't mean people shouldn't do it.

[EVen if she's not volunteering. But she's already got three others she's working on at the moment. Adding a fourth would just be an effort in futility.]
