Video @splash
[There's a lot of water drops on the camera before someone wipes it off. The amount of wet red hair that follows isn't better for visibility, but someone is definitely in water at least up to their chest.
The voice is clear, thank god.]
This place is so fascinating! Have anyone else been displaced like this in other places? How many realities does even exist?
[Another wipe of a (webbed?) hand over the camera, and there's more visibility. There's a smiling face of a man in his mid-twenties with odd scars on his cheeks and fully black eyes.]
Are there any humans here that are just humans? Or do you all know magic? Do you know about non-human beings back in your world? If so, what do you think about them? If you're a human with no magic, do you wish you had such powers? Do you have any other abilities that make you more than the average person?
If you're non-human, do you hide that at home? Or do you get along with them? Is it weird to be open with it here? Are there a lot of different non-humans or just a few? Are your vampires dead or alive? Do other weres than wolves exist? Fae? Have you ever fought humans? Do you know any divines?
Do you like the sea?
[He laughs, and the camera bobs under the surface thanks to that. He quickly pulls it up again with a 'whoops'.]
Now the most important two questions! What can you tell me about the aquarium and the hydroponics garden?
...and can I buy a bunch of portable phone chargers and plastic bags from someone in exchange for fish?
The voice is clear, thank god.]

Really? How is that working out? Any games?
no subject
None yet, I'm focusing on the dining experience in the Quarantine. So food critic stuff, restaurant ratings... I could probably throw a game or two together in my off time, though.

I don't really know anything about making apps but I love using them. The Friendr thing is pretty neat.
no subject
It is. Reminds me of another app back home I've heard about, but this one's probably better for general use. The other one is for hookups and the like.
no subject
Yeah we have one too that's all about hookups. It's amusing that this almost sounds the same name as that app, too. I guess this one is better because you can find anything - friends, dates or just someone to go swimming with.

[ He chuckles. ]
Swimming buddies are probably pretty important to mermaids.
no subject
[he laughs as well.]
Yeah, we're social creatures and it's been a while since I had someone come swimming with me... plus not a lot of people want to take a bath in the Hudson River.
no subject
[ He shakes his head in amusement. ]
Yeah, no, not exactly the best swimming spot.
no subject
...yeah, it's not the nicest waters. I'm glad to be in a less horrible river now.
no subject
Any reason in particular you took up the Hudson in the first place?
no subject
I met some good friends there, but the water was definitely making my scales dull.
no subject
Somehow, I'm not surprised the biggest group is in New York. Is there another one in Seattle?
no subject
There probably is! I mean, there are Veil havens and undergrounds in any place humans are, but New York's the biggest one I could swim to. I can't drag my scaly ass to the middle of Asia and Africa.
no subject
[ He gives an amused scoff. ] Fair enough. Did it turn out to be everything you'd dreamed of?
no subject
[He returns the scoff with a little chuckle.] Nnnnnot really, but I wouldn't have made the friends that I have if I had never swam across an ocean to try it.
no subject
Yeah, that sounds more like it. How does that go, anyway? Pack for a day trip and set out or what?
no subject
Besides, I can only swim about as fast as an orca, so it would take longer than the six or so days it takes by boat.
I packed for about a week, and then got lost for a while, restocked with another pod, got lost again, almost got eaten by a shark, and then finally found the right currents to follow.

So, an adventure before you even got to start your adventure.
no subject
Exactly! My family would blow bubbles if they knew the mess I went through.
no subject
"Blow bubbles"? What, is that like blowing a gasket?
no subject
no subject
So... let's see. Battery chargers first, then we'll see about the wheelchair. Right?
