He taps a pencil on a clipboard, his bid to look professional. Even his hair is combed back, a few strands tied together with a silver clasp. ]

Greetings. I work at the Gramarye Research Facility for Magic and I was hoping to get some examples of magic taken place in Riverview. Any will do, even ones where your own magic has clashed with the rules of this reality. If you could make it short and precise, I would be most . . . grateful.

For one thing, you failed utterly to introduce yourself. And secondly, you will not secure the co-operation of anyone unless you are personable.

Also I see you saw fit to give commentary without an introduction either. Perhaps manners are not simply dying with me.

( Well now, he cannot refute her point and so he deflects? Elizabeth sighs. )

You have only yourself to blame for representing the research facility poorly. As we are colleagues, apparently, we might have formed a better presentation had we created it together.

My father was a king, one who was much-beloved. Because he was personable.

[ Well now. That is surprising. Loki was half-tempted to talk about his fathers, but that would defeat the purpose. A pity. ]

And what happened to this much-beloved king? Nothing tragic, I should hope.

( He's baiting her! The gall of that makes her laugh, and she shakes her head as she subsides. )

When he passed, it was of natural causes. His brother usurped my brother and was deposed and murdered within the span of two years for the trouble.

Take from that what you will.

I do not believe there is much to take. If your father were here, perhaps his advice would have more weight.

As he often took counsel from a woman, I do not think you would believe so.

Your own seems to have less weight than a feather's with these people.

Good kings do tend to listen to women.

[ Odin did listen to Frigga. Most of the time. Shame he didn't when it mattered. Loki chuckles softly. Mortals are so dim. ]

( To her, he is more than simply dim. )

I am more than capable of presenting the facility positively to this place. Along with the input of others.

[ This actually makes his life easier. She can promote and do good-will while Loki works in the shadows. It couldn't have worked better. And since she has so readily dismissed him, Loki can continue working with that impression.
