[ max isn’t big on typing — the device feels fragile and small in his hands and hitting the right places is an exercise in frustration, really — but the voice and video functions are similar enough to some of the things that can be achieved by furycrafting that they seem almost familiar. so here he is on the network, still in full uniform, looking very much like a roman soldier straight out of a history book, for those who have romans in their history books. (to those who know clark kent, he might also look like a younger version of clark pretending to be a roman.) ]
Can’t say I really understand what furycrafting’s gotten me here and I do have to get back, but while I’m here —
[ his posture and expression might have been professional until now, fit for a legionare, but here he grins, something rakish and wide. ] Where’s the nearest bar? Any recommendations for food or drink?
[ a moment later, he sobers again. in more quiet tones, he adds: ] Calderon, if you’re here as well, come find me.

For me as well! I had thought I would spend this day alone. ( Not the case anymore, and she's grinning back at him. ) Very well! I will be there shortly.
( Really, all she needs to do is grab the closest thing to a cloak she can find and her change purse. In about ten minutes, she's outside, and walking toward him. She halts some three feet from him and offers a hand, still smiling. )
My name is Elizabeth. Well-met, sir.

Maximus, but call me Max. And I couldn't let a beautiful lady like you spend the day alone, now, could I?
[ another one of those grins, and only then does he let go of her hand. ] Shall we?

As you say, Max. I stand most grateful to have been rescued from boredom. You are a gallant for true.
( This man is charming, but she knows that smile could mean trouble; which is just a bit thrilling. ) Indeed.
( Elizabeth sets off toward the business district, keeping the pace companionable and slow so they might speak more. )
Which realm do you call home?

[ his smile only means trouble if she's looking for a husband rather than one or several nights of great pleasure. it is, at least, an honest smile: it announces its wearer's intentions right off the bat. ]
Alera. Do you know it?

( It is honest, which is something she can appreciate more than she would admit (which is not at all, at present.) Simply because so many she has known have been false. After a moment, she returns the smile, though her own is one of gentle amusement for the time being. )
I fear not! Would you grant me the pleasure of rectifying that matter?

but he still says it with a grin and a wink, lest she feel that he's rebuking her. ]
I'm not sure where I'd start. It's just a normal place to me and this is the weird one.

With good-humour, she allows her smile to grow warmer, even when her grip slips upon his arm so that she ends up holding his wrist, instead. )
There, we can most definitely agree. This place is far more advanced compared to what I am accustomed to.
( Meeting his eyes, she continues to smile. ) It is a good change of scenery.
