so hey i'm Asking For A Friend ;) but how many other immortals are here in the quarantine? any?
also! important question!! what did everyone get told when they got here? what questions did you ask? i wanna know what we're working with! Let's Work Together!
p.s., if you want to answer the first question without a name there are burner phones available at [ small list of locations ] to make unattached accounts. i'm just looking for at least numbers! names would be radical too of course!

oof, no. sorry, train of thought jumped tracks on me there. went straight from horrible fiery existence to the babysteps of space exploration. was thinking more... a reasonable possibility for wherever earth might be along its timeline of tech for you.
no subject
oh yeah in that case space stations are kind of where we're at, some prep for when we may or may not inevitably destroy our planet and may need to vacate because that's a totally lovely thought
i'll give everyone points for preventative measures though in case it might actually happen
no subject
ever thought about putting yourself in a position to affect the outcome? surely you've seen enough civilizations fall before on a scale such that you can imagine that manner of 'inevitability'.
no subject
not that i want the earth to die but it'd suck if they were going to get out of the way on their own and i'd do all that for nothing, right?
no subject
fake moustache. male or female. gets 'em every time. bonus points for a foreign language (general assumption: you savvy on a few?)
no subject
and i mean i could always grow one instead of making a fake but ??? maybe i'll take that sun option if it goes south
no subject
there are a few immortals where i'm from. don't know them personally and can't speak to their temperments but there you have it.
no subject
do you know why? like if there's a reason they're immortal or more than one or any of that
no subject
simpler terms: far as we know it just Happens. Has for thousands of years, far back as we've ever been recording, garden variety 'superpowers' of which immortality qualifies. couldn't tell you if any of them are that old though.

i can control electricity with my mind, for instance. perfectly normal for me and where i'm from. lots of folk have something extranormal. manifests in different ways.
no subject
that's actually pretty cool! does it extend to fine workings of tech or is that getting too detailed?
[ Electrokinesis is cool. Technopathy is cooler. Sorry it's just fact. ]
no subject
no subject
though i guess not dying is pretty useful too sometimes
no subject
[Then again, she OP as fuck. She usually leads with the electrokinetic thing because it's a concept most forward-thinking folks can grasp. As to the rest, well. She isn't shy, but she's rarely in a rush.]
suppose it depends on how you define usefulness! you'd definitely be the guy i want on my team during extreme paintball.
no subject
oh yeah i would DOMINATE that. real guns too i guess? but you know pain still hurts and all
no subject
'pain still hurts'. truer words have never been said. i guess we can dial it back to actual paintball... but then i'll have to think up another scenario for usefulness.
linguistics? history? i think both those things are quite useful also.
no subject
back home sure! but here where those places and times and cultures probably didn't exist to most people it's esoteric at best!
no subject
seems like there's a lot of folks from earth, i'm sure someone would appreciate the esotericism nonetheless.
alternately: new career as an anthropology professor?
no subject
there's an idea. if you can't do, teach right? but i CAN do... so... maybe on the backburner
no subject
this is the first i'm hearing on the matter of 'doing' much of anything! beyond the prior nod to linguistics, at least. what do you do with yourself, sir/madame immortal? what is it that staves off the drudgery?
no subject
the internet is a new and wonderful place! all sorts of things to try and do! lots of studying and learning and making sure nobody notices you in old facebook photos and how you haven't changed at all since then
no subject
do you have regenerists? [there has got to be a better word for it than her specific instance with people who can reshape flesh at their will.] surgeons that restructure appearance?
no subject
plastic surgeons? yes but that's complicated
no subject
heal over it sort of complicated?
[there's a bit of a pause, and then she sends another message,]
golly, i'm sorry. i'm talking your ear (presumably you have those?) off. usually it's the other way around. seeing how the other half lives is interesting, at least.
