Hello everyone. My name is Clark. I'll try and keep this brief.

Firstly, I've drawn up a blank list and placed one on the bulletin board on each housing floor. If those with medical expertise feel comfortable, they can put their name, residence here, and — if they have one — specialisation, in case of an emergency. We have several residents who aren't from the same point in time, so if you'd like to volunteer to update someone's medical knowledge, please mark your name with an asterisk.

Secondly, ah-- [ a bit of a laugh. ] I'm from Kansas, which some of you might recognise as being host to some pretty bad weather. Now, I'm not going to say I'm paranoid, but-- I like to think ahead. So, I've made up some kits with some of the usual survival paraphernalia back home and distributed them between floors. Feel free to help yourselves if you need them.

[ No one has to use them, but he’d rather everyone knows they're available. ]

The usual. Food and water for a few days, a first aid kit, flashlight, and a radio. I'm trying to fit some tarp into it.

You must get some rough weather in Kansas. What did you do back there?

My family has a farm. We've been lucky not to have too much trouble from tornadoes.

Appreciate the thought. [ Any recognition there is carefully scrubbed out, but there's an undeniable warmth lurking in the tone. There might actually be no one else he'd rather be stranded with a dimension away from home. ]

[ This is the first person who's mentioned Gotham and Bludhaven. There's a hopeful uptick to Clark's voice. ]

2013. Metropolis. I just moved, actually.

Wow, that's- [ probably an answer he should have been expecting by now. He clears his throat, and that conspicuous note of surprise vanishes. ] -uh, quite a difference.

Though I'm kinda getting the sense I might be more the outlier in this place.

Sounds like a pretty nice life.

[steve almost sounds wistful. oh, he loves new york, he does. but it lacks simplicity these days.]

It's peaceful, if you're looking for that.

[ It never felt like a life Clark could call his own. he knows he has a different purpose. ]

[ What an ironic question, given what's in store for Ray in his future. But actually, Ray realizes as he smiles against his phone ... that's a good question to start asking people. ]

2013. I live in Metropolis, do you know of it?

Oh wow 2013. That was when the first smartwatches started to hit the market ... but um ... yeah I know Metropolis.

I live- well, lived in Star City. You must have heard of us.

I have.

[ He registers a small note of surprise. He's so relieved to find something recognisable that's not New York. ]

Should I start asking you for lottery numbers?

[ Ray laughs, and it's comfortable and easy. ]

Oh god. If only I knew them. But even then I couldn't give them to you. Eagle scout code of ethics states very clearly that we can't help people from the past cheat on the lottery.

[ A bit of a laugh on Clark's end. ]

I have another question, if you don't mind. Do you know of Superman?

[ You can hear the surprise on Ray's end of the line. The question just feels so random, but he supposes they were talking about Metropolis after all. ]

How could I not? He's constantly in the news over in Metropolis right?
