Video | @fraulein.zweihander | June 10th
[The video starts with a short, pudgy teenager with blonde hair. Sieglinde doesn't often draw attention to herself without her armor on, so for some this might be the first time they've seen the young knight without her helmet.
Regardless of how familiar they are with her face, however, it's pretty clear that she's not doing so hot. Her skin is pale, with an almost greenish complexion, and her her eyes have a glazed, milky hue to them.
To some this might be a strange an alien look, but anyone from Sieglinde's own world would be able to recognize what she is: An undead. And one in need of some Humanity, from the looks of it.]
Hello. My name is Sieglinde of Catarina.
Lately, I've been looking for a purpose in this place. My work in the perimeter guard is important, but I'm looking for something more - a sort of goal to drive myself toward.
[She's getting a little side-tracked with that bit, but she self-corrects.]
Anyway, I've been thinking of getting into brewing with my free time. Many of my family members are brewers, so it's a craft I understand well enough.
I'd need equipment, though, and a place to do it - I'm certain the other guards would frown upon it if I were to attempt such things in the barracks. I've some money saved up - does anyone know where I might find such a place to rent? This place is so different than anyplace I've ever lived, I'm not quite sure where to start.

[He's pretty amused by the idea, actually.]
That sounds like a good pursuit.
Video; @fraulein.zweihander
[If nothing else, the brewing process can be fairly... odorous. The other guards aren't likely to respond well to that, she thinks.]
But I'm glad you think so, Steve. Hopefully I'll be able to do my forefathers justice, and bring a true Catarinan stout to Riverview.
[As opposed to what they have now. As an undead, Sieglinde doesn't feel the effects of alcohol herself, but she hasn't been terribly impressed with what she's seen so far.]
Video;
I'd like to try it if you find a place to set up.
video; @eddie
[Eddie looks pretty excited, sporting a bright smile, after all...one of his favourite things is trying out unique craft beers. But it fades after the initial excitement clears up a bit.]
And uh, are you okay? You look a little pale.
Video; @fraulein.zweihander
[Best to answer the more pressing question first, she supposes. It's not a subject she can easily dance around.
Still, she doesn't linger on it, and quickly answers the questions about brewing next.]
I'd be brewing beer to begin with. Ale and mead certainly aren't off the table, but I'd like to start with beer if I can get my hands on the proper materials.
[Do they even have hops in riverview? She might have to find a suitable substitute - but the prospect of doing so is honestly more intriguing to her than anything.]

[His eyes go wide and he blinks a bit.]
Like a zombie? You don't look like a zombie.
no subject
I don't know what that is. [Given the context, though, she can guess what it's about.] If you've some problem with undead, know that I'm not in this city by my own choice.
I've no intention of losing my wits, you don't need to worry yourself about what I am.
no subject
No, no, I mean...I'm just not used to undead not...eating brains. If you don't do that...
[Waving his hand as if to wave it off, he takes a soft breath.]
If you're making beer, I'd love to try it. I really like microbrews.
no subject
[That was not the right thing to say, Eddie. She's making such a face right now.]
Of course I wouldn't do such a thing! What kind of savage do you take me for?!
no subject
[Whoops. That was some very unintentional insult.]
Seriously. I'm really sorry. I don't actually think the undead even really exist where I'm from, just in movies, where they're usually monsters. I didn't stop to think that maybe undead are different in other worlds.
video }{ @badou
I've seen a couple of empty shops around. How big of a place do you think you'll need?
no subject
Well, I'm not looking for anything outlandish, but I'd require a fair amount of space.
I'd need a store room for supplies, a room with enough space for a large stove and a basin, and space to keep barrels while the brew ages.
[And then as an afterthought, she mutters:]
I suppose I should see how they malt their grains in this place as well. If it's not to my liking, I might need room to do that myself as well...
no subject
[He takes a couple moments to think, before giving her directions to a couple of places not too far from the guard barracks.]
If those aren't what you need, there are a couple other places.
no subject
[She gives him a smile.]
If this works out, perhaps I'll send a free drink your way.
no subject
[This gets a laugh out of him.]
That sounds like a fair trade. Oh, and if you need a hand with anything, let me know.
Voice - @lolococo416
*Lola is so subtle, but at least the concern is genuine in her voice.*
Voice; @fraulein.zweihander
...No? I don't wear make-up, Lola.
no subject
And that just would be weird.
no subject
[Which is a distinctly different concept, where she comes from. Her tone of voice is confused and hurt.]
Are you making fun of me, Lola?
no subject
*That's not better, Lin. It is a different sort of weird, yes, but still weird.*
W-what, why would you say that!?
no subject
[Longer than that, even. She can recall leaving her home in Catarina months ago, before she could be captured and thrown in the asylum for her curse.]
Are you all right? We've had this conversation before - do you honestly not remember?
no subject
*Lola misses things here or there. She didn't notice the planet in the sky for a week. But she's pretty sure even with club lighting she'd spot someone who wasn't alive!*
We definitely didn't talk about this before.
no subject
I know I've been here a few months without humanity, and I might be starting to show it, but I'm certain we've spoken about this.
You're certain you're feeling well?
no subject
But that wouldn't be enough to make me forget something this... weird. I mean I'm pretty sure I'd have remembered given how many people here have powers over the dead. It's kinda weird how much of that comes up.
no subject
[It's strange to her how most worlds don't seem to have that distinction, but where she comes from that's sort of the whole metaphysical problem with the undead - they're this sort of gray area that no one has real control over.]
It is strange how many people are like that, though. Riverview truly is a strange place.
no subject
And definitely the sort of weird I'd make note of. It completely changes the sort of make-up and clothing I can suggest!
*See, Lola has a perfectly good reason to have paid attention and remembered this is how things were. Cause this isn't how things were!*

Fortunately, a fine Catarinan stout should be able to fix that problem.

no subject
[Ain't no party like a Catarina party, etc etc]
@necromantica/video
[Well... Letha sure is Letha, at any age.]
If you get to be a guard, why bother with doing other things?
no subject
[She should have just worn her helmet. She'd rather answer questions about a suit of armor than about her curse a dozen times.]
It isn't enough by itself, I need something to strive for. Why are you using Letha's username? Who are you?
no subject
[At the sound of her name she sort of tips her head to the side.]
My name is Letha. Letha Regis. This is my light-box and it was in my house, so it must be my 'username', right? [She frowns.] I don't know you, though.
no subject
[Not that she would know anything about that, of course.]
It's hollows who don't speak - and I know Letha Regis. We've become friends in the last month or so, and you're quite a bit too young to be her.
no subject
[Her nose wrinkles as she thinks this over.]
Are you talking about shades? They never leave the Netherworld, you couldn't have met them. And I am Letha, I've always been the age that I am.
Video @the.boneless
I know a few places that might be suitable.
[Because beer? Hello, that is the lifeblood of Vikings. This is a worthy cause to put forth an effort for.]
