[ When the feed begins, a woman with a medium complexion, dark brown eyes, and dark brown hair to match appears on the screen. She gives a smile to her audience and wets her lips with the tip of her tongue. ]
Hi. I’m not sure how common introductions are or what proper etiquette is around here, but I’m Margo Hanson and I’m new.
[ She gives a small toss of her head to flip her hair over her shoulder and out of her way. ]
I’ve lived in a few different places, but never anywhere like here. I’m still exploring.
[ A quiet exhale of breath escapes her lips and she smiles a little brighter. ]
Anyway, I work at Gramarye Magic Research and you can reach me here on the network whenever.

*Fortunately Chandra knows how to hold her camera far enough to show all of her. She's still all freckles and amber eyes and energy... only smaller and younger than she usually is.*

My professors call it physical magic. Basically the manipulation of physical matter.
[ She drops the pen into her palm. ]
You familiar with magic, too?

*Chandra wiggles her fingers in front of the camera. And then her hand and fingers are covered in a layer of flames.*
My magic is all about heat and fire. That's it.

That's what my school would call natural magic. Pretty useful. It's not my forte, but I can still light a cigarette.

The monks said something about how what we do is just a part of nature. Just a part of nature people sometimes don't like. Around their stuff.

[He likes including the bit about being a Viking because most people have interesting reactions to it, assuming they're from the same world as he is.]
no subject
A legitimate Viking? Huh.
[ Margo nods slowly, looking the tiniest bit impressed. It's hard to tell what she's thinking. ]
Nice to meet you, Ivar.

[Can't imagine why, he's only a psychopathic, bloodthirsty warrior who's constantly angry. Well, less of that right now, the butterfly effect currently going around has mellowed him out on that front. Still doesn't make him the easiest person to get along with in Riverview.]

Because you don't play well with others?

[Yet somehow, he's managed to make quite a few friends here, and has only attempted to kill one person. Odd that.]

Gramarye Magic Research... what kind of things do you actually do there, if you don't mind me asking?

[ Margo sighs and cants her head to the side. ]
But we study magical phenomena, supernatural creatures... That sort of thing.

[ She shrugs her shoulders. ]
There's a lot to be discovered here.

[ Curiosity piqued? Quite. Of course, she's quick enough to catch herself. Her inquiry stands, but a name for a name is only fair, not that she isn't curious about a person who would work in such a place. ]
Líadan Ní Donnabháin, by the way, and I do believe a 'welcome' is in order. Welcome, Margo!

[ She gives a facial shrug. ]
Thanks for the welcome, Líadan.

[ Color her curious and also not entirely certain. UCLA is a college, but the institute is different? Forgive her, Margo. She hails from a young world and early age. ]
What is the difference? I was of the belief that colleges were quite similar.

[ Margo struggles to find the right words. ]
It's not a place where things are taught, but it is a place where things are studied.

[ Nevermind her illiteracy. Pouring over books with little more footwork than that sounds terribly, terribly boring to her, but then, she always has been the sort who tends to prefer more of a hands-on approach in her learning. Anything but monotony, really, but she is curious all the same. 'Things' is pretty broad, after all. ]

Hi Margo. I'm working at Gramarye too. It's good to meet you. (She deeply means it; she's only met two others attending, both of them men.)
I'm Lucretia.

It's nice to meet you, too. It looks like we'll be seeing more of each other. What do you do at Gramarye?
no subject
How about you?
