[Each of those words has a separate amount of emphasis. Ellie is holding her hands up and gesturing like she's trying to make an invisible margarita or something. Anyone who's ever been around teens should recognize the fact it's teenagerese for some form of frustration.]

[Basically: her AU was that she never lost Riley, that it was the two of them that went across America in search of the Fireflies. She never met Joel at all, and her feelings about that whole mess are so mixed she's even willing to go shopping just to take her mind off it.]

So, uh. What's it like where you're from?

Well.. it's probably not that different from where you're from. [ s..she could not be MORE wrong. ]

I live in Paris, France - it's one of the most beautiful cities in the country. [ Bias, bias, bias. ]

I go to school and hang out with my friends, my parents run a bakery... ah, it's... actually pretty normal. ...mostly. [ Disregarding the whole akumatizing and supervillainy stuff. Which she doesn't mention quite yet. ]

Holy shit, no way. I've always wanted to go to Paris! That's where the Eiffel Tower is, right? Have you seen it?

[Ellie's knowledge of the rest of the world is mostly on postcards, travel pamphlets she finds in old, run-down malls. There's no way to keep up with how the rest of the world survived the Infection, so as far as she knows Europe is all a smoking crater, but it seemed like a cool place to go.]

Yeah, I actually visit the Eiffel Tower a lot - it's not far from my home, and it's a great place to go when I'm running dry on inspiration. Paris at night is even more enchanting though. [ So is Paris in the day though.. and Paris in general. ]
