[It's the early morning, so early some might still consider it to technically be part of the night. Deal with it, people, he cares nothing about your sleeping schedules. The only reason he's up this early is his left leg is aching and won't stop. Ah, the thrills of having a disease that create brittle bones easily. So he's bored and this is what he's left to do: bug all of you until he can get back to sleep.]

Serious question time. What does a conscience feel like? In detail, if you don't mind. Or, if you're like me and don't have one, what does empathy feel like?

[This has been on his mind as of late. Blame talks with guilt-ridden ex-assassins he's had. Ivar's been thinking a lot about it. He can fake the latter to some degree, but the former has never much bothered him, which does explain why killing comes so easily to him.]

Says the crazy one himself. So do you have one? Or is that an inconvenience for a supposed 'genius'?

I was the nice twin so yes to both. It's only an inconvenience if you can't work around it.

Work around it? So do you ignore the little voice inside your head everyone keeps talking about?

[Ivar's is noticeably absent. He just never seems to be able to tell what's right from what he wants to do, which usually behavior people frown upon.]

Yes and no. I don't let it stop me from getting what I want, but I adjust my methods accordingly to something I find more palatable.

You'll find most people are quite flexible on that.

[ragnarsson]

So you let it set limits, but only so far as it allows you to get what you want?

[He's taking mental notes here, trying to figure out how he might be able to fake such tactics on his own.]

For most of us. And for your plan on faking it at one point it's good enough you keep that in mind. No need to pretend your moral compass is fixed. Although the key is to look contrite if you get caught.

I already got that part down. Why else do you think I'm still walking around instead of in jail? [Ivar could do a very good job of fooling those around him when it suited his means. It was how he'd convinced the police that the fight with Dodger was entirely the mutant's fault.]

Then what's the point in asking all of this?

It's called curiosity and gathering knowledge. I'd think someone with as creative a mind as yours would understand that.

A smarter man than I once said there's a finite space in the brain and it's best not to fill it with garbage.

[Tony's definitely sure he hasn't heard of Sherlock Holmes.]

I'm not filling it with garbage like so many other people here like to do. Information like that is good to have at your fingertips. Know how people think and you know how to defeat them in battle.

[Everything always came back to fighting for Vikings. Ivar hadn't forgotten that when he went home, he was still going to be in the middle of a war.]
