[ Bill is used to smart phones, but she's not used to this sort of a network thing where people just go online to chat and ask questions about things... But, she's new here, and she's trying to fit in. Plus she has some questions that she definitely can't ask the Doctor about.

When the video starts, Bill's dressed in a drab dark outfit with her hair pulled back in a braided bun. Very dystopia. She does a little wave, then launches into her question. ]

Hi. I guess. My name's Bill, just arrived. Except the portal thing didn't exactly let me pack, so all I have to wear is... well, not exactly my style. Anyone know where's good to shop around here? Someplace not too expensive; I'm a university student now, I've got to keep a budget.

OH! [ She holds up a finger. ] If you were going to university, and could study anything you want, anything at all... What would you study? I'm at a bit of a loss, myself. Never actually done this officially before.

[ She pauses to think if she has anything else to add, but no. That's it. ]

Anyway, yeah. If you could help me out, that'd be brilliant. Cheers!

I've seen one or two places you could get some clothes, but, I don't know if those places would be your style either. [ It's a new world, so new culture. And some of those hats were pretty wild. ]

I could send you some directions though. Oh, and if I were going to university - that's still af ew years off, but I'd probably study something in design - clothing design specifically.

[ She smiles, ] Oh, are you a clothing designer? That's cool. Maybe I should ask you to design me some clothes.

Okay, let me just... [ she stares at the display for a second, and touches a few buttons, and a moment later a little message is texted over with some quick directions to the two places she knows. Though most of those directions are probably better for someone who already knows the area, she did try to throw in landmarks to make it easier for Bill to find them. ]

There. Let me know if you have any trouble finding the way. [ She perks up a bit, grinning. ]

I'm serious! I'd love to have a custom made outfit. And I'm meant to be working as a mentor for younger girls, so like, maybe this will work out for both of us!

[ She grins, nodding eagerly to that. ]

Well sure! In that case I'd have to get your measurements - well, you can take your own measurements if you want, or you can stop by sometime you're free. I'm currently living in the Communal Housing, on the tenth Floor. Just ask for Marinette!~ [ That'd be her, obvs. ]

I'm only downstairs, on the second floor. I can come up now, if you're free.

...Is there a lift? [ Eight flights of stairs is a lot. ]

Oh! Sure, that'd be fine! [ Snerk - yeah she walked down the full ten flights of stairs herself, and while she hadn't been TOO exhausted it... did leave her a tiny bit winded. Going down was way easier. ]

Yeah, there's one a little bit past the stairs. It's the glass elevator - you're not afraid of heights or anything are you?

[ Scared? Bill? Never. ]

No, heights are fine for me. A glass elevator, yeah? [ She's already heading out, holding the phone in front of her as she goes. ] That means there'll be a view! I'll be up in a minute, see you soon!

Yeah! The view is really beautiful too - not as much as the view from the Eiffel Tower, but I'm a little biased. [Ahaha - ahem. Still, she heads out of her room and pads out to the living room, opening the door and watching for Bill's arrival. ]

[ Bill will hang up the call and just wait for the elevator to let her off on the tenth floor. When the doors slide open, she's facing out towards the city, admiring the view. But she quickly turns around to step out and look for Marinette. She smiles once she spots her and heads over with a wave. ]

Eiffel Tower. Are you French, then? Never been, myself.

[ Marinette grinned, waving back when she caught sight of Bill. ]

Yep, born and raised in France. You should visit at least once - postcards don't do it justice. [ She clearly loved her home, so she might be a LIIIITTLE biased. ]

Come on in, my roommates are out so you don't have to worry about feeling weird or anything. Since.. they're all guys. [ She'd like to know who made that arrangement, but eh. Once she had enough money and knew she'd be able to afford the rent regularly, she was moving out. That would probably be a while though. ]

I'll see if I can, I do love traveling. [ It's just that her sort of traveling tends to be more of outer space than of Europe.

She follows Marinette in, hands in her back pockets. ]

How'd you manage that? [ Said jokingly. She knows they get little say in who they're roomed with. ]

[ She giggles. ]

I'm just lucky I guess. [ Ahaha, because her Miraculous is the Miraculous of Good Luck see -- ahem. ]

Would you like anything to drink?

What've you got?

[ She is a bit thirsty. ]

[ Nothing alcoholic, obviously, but she padded into the kitchen. ]

Hm... there's some... purple stuff - I'm not sure what that is, milk, Sunny D and a fizzy drink I picked up at the store. It's kind of like soda? There's also water, or I could put some tea on if you prefer. [ But it's kind of hot for that. ]

Let's try the fizzy drink. It's too hot for tea.

[ Every other Brit would be scandalized, but Bill thinks tea is good for a very specific sort of mood, just not the mood she's in at the moment. ]

I was thinking the same thing. Have a seat! [ She futzes about getting a pair of glasses, and returns a few minutes later. ]

Let me just grab my things, real quick. [ Like her measuring tape and notepad. ]

[ Bill waits, sipping her fizzy drink. ]

Mm! It's not bad, this. A bit fruity.

[ Marinette ducked into her room -- well, her shared room -- and emerged again a few seconds later, her measuring tape trailing behind her. ]

I guess the fizzy stuff is carbonation or... something similar to it. If nothing else it makes me hiccup when I drink it. [ She chuckled, flipping a few pages to a blanket one. ]

So what kind of outfit were you looking to have made?

So it's like one of those natural sodas they sell at a high end health food store.

[ Bill takes another sip as she considers. ]

Something comfortable. I like bright colors. Nothing too fancy, I don't think. [ She laughs. ] Sorry, I've never had a custom outfit made for me before. I'm not sure what answers to give.

Yeah, it seems to be. [ She jots a few notes down. ]

Well, no it's okay, a lot of the time I can make outfits when I meet someone and get an idea of their own current style of fashion. So nothing fancy, bright colors - easy to move around in, right?

Right. Just something casual, but with a lot of personal style. [ She smiles. ] Something memorable.

[ Marinette studied Bill for a few seconds, then nodded. ]

Well I think I can get a few things sorted for you, definitely. Let me just get your measurements. Ah, and any favorite colors?

[ Once she got that sorted away Bill would be able to go on her merry way. ]

[ She takes another sip before putting the glass down and standing so Marinette can take her measurements. ]

I like bright colors. Red. Blue-- deep, royal blue. [ TARDIS blue. ]

Ooh, those are good colors -! [ She approves. She loves all those colors, see. She also is quick and efficient at taking measurements - instead of stopping to note each one down, she memorizes the locations and number, then picks up her pad to jot the information down on the page. ]

Perfect! I think that's all I'll need for now then. I'll get in touch with you If I do need something else though. It'll probably take me about a week or two to get the first outfit is put together, and then I'll just need you to do a fitting before the final product.
