β°ΒΉ video (ππ: ππππ π»ππππ½)
[ the feed opens up with a little bit of jostling until it's settled on a nearby bedstand. then, there's a flash of red cloth before al settles down on the floor in front of it. in his white-gloved hands is a broken lamp. he sets it on the floor in front of him. ]
Hello! [ he's rather cheerful. ] I'm Alphonse Elric. Some of you may have already met my brother, Ed. We're alchemists and though we're working in the Perimeter Guard, I also wanted to let people know that we're here to help. If you have something broken, we can probably fix it.
[ he gestures at the broken lamp with a grin and then slaps his palms together. they're then placed above the lamp as a bright, blue light encompasses it. there's a spark of energy and soon the broken pieces are molding back together. ]
See? Just like new.
[ switching it on, the light flickers for a second and then begins to glow steadily. ]
So again, if you need something fixed, Brother and I are on floor 6. Have a nice day!

Welcome! The others are out right now, so this works well. Hopefully I'll be able to fix up your weapons quickly.
I didn't catch your name though?
no subject
Thanks. I'm Link. Who are you?
[There was something very familiar about this alchemist, and he had noticed it when he had first showed up on his Sheikah Slate. He looked an awful lot like Ed. Maybe they were related? He did mention a brother after all.
In any case Link takes the sword and bow off his back and hands them to the alchemist.
He's eager to watch this in person.]

he takes the weapons with care, aware that a fighter's weapons can be very important. it's like handling an alchemist's research. there's no such thing as being too careful. ]
It's nice to meet you, by the way.
[ said as he settles on the floor. the bow is set to the side while the sword is placed in front of him. ]
Do you just want them sharpened and renewed? Or do you want them changed in any way?
no subject
[Link stepped around Al to make sure he had a good look at this alchemy technique. The bright light that had shown over the video when he had repaired the lamp made it impossible to see what was actually going on. Link hoped seeing it in person would reveal a few things.
He have Al a surprised look.]
Changed? How can you change them?
no subject
[ a bright grin is given to link and then he gestures at the sword on the floor. ]
I can make it longer and thinner or shorter and stronger. It's up to you really. I can even change the handle a bit.

[Link put his hand to his chin in thought. It would be a good idea to make it more durable. With the way he is with his weapons that's always a plus. On the other hand, he didn't want the blade to me too short, and it was balanced well as it was.]
I think I'd like to keep it as it is. Same with the bow. Though before you get started, maybe we should talk about how I'm paying you.
[Link had been good at keep up with his money back in Hyrule. He always conserved as much as he could, but he also managed to drop a lot of money on armor, though it was well worth the price. At the celebrations, Link got a little carried away. He wasn't broke, but he didn't have as much money as he would like to either.]
I wouldn't mind exchanging a service for a service if that's alright with you. Is there anything I could help you out with?
no subject
If you can find good quality scraps of metal, that would help a lot! We don't really need much more than that. Really, alchemists are meant to help people. It's Equivalent Exchange for being able to do alchemy.
[ looking down at the sword, he rubs his palms together as if considering. ]
Is that okay? If so, I'll start.
no subject
[There was a whole abandoned city just over the wall. It shouldn't be that hard to locate.
Link watched Al carefully. He didn't want to miss anything.]
Go ahead.
no subject
How's this? It should be sharper now.
no subject
This is perfect. [Link stepped back and swung the blade around a bit. He was pleased with the work and felt very fortunate to have someone with such amazing abilities so close. Link sheathed the sword and waited for the same to be done to his bow.]
Are there a lot of people like you where you're from? People who can do this?
no subject
Mm! There are quite a lot of alchemists, but not many are as powerful as Brother.
[ or him, but he's more modest. ]
Brother is actually famous as an alchemist because he's such a genius.
[ this is said as he shifts the bow in front of him, positioning it in order to complete the repair on it as well. ]
Now this. Same kind of thing?
[ he claps his hands again and hovers them over the bow. a similar flash of light and energy glows around it and the wood becomes smoother, the string tighter, until at least the light fades and the bow looks as good as new. ]
How's that?
no subject
Link quickly recovered, and the shadow passed as quickly as it had come. Any misgivings were pushed aside to deal with later.]
I don't know how anyone would be better than you.
[Link picked up the bow, and like the sword before it, inspected it before slinging it on his back.]
I think you made it better than when I found it. Thanks!
no subject
Brother is quite good, like I said. We'll show you some time. In the meantime, I'm glad I was able to fix them for you.
no subject
I'll keep a lookout for good scrap metal. I've been wanting to explore the abandoned part of the city since I got here.
[And now that he had something to focus on while he was out, it might keep him from getting into too much trouble.]
Thanks again!
[Link turned and opened the door to leave. He glanced back for one last smile.]
