Do new people always come in batches like this? It doesn't seem like anyone's really been here long enough to notice a pattern. A lot of- relatives showed up, recently. Pretty odd coincidence, I think.
[He looks... frustrated. Everyone he'd spoken to so far had only been around for a few months - tops. There's something suspicious about the whole thing, and he's trying to figure it out. After a moment he sighs, expression changing for the following announcement.]
Some of us have been doing research since we got here, and we're looking to start exploring the abandoned city for more information. We'll be meeting up to make arrangements this week on floor six of communal housing, if that sounds like something you'd be interested in and can defend yourself, feel free to stop by.
[Ed will give the specific time and date for this log, but we don't have a specific one set up OOC - probably July 10th, after the festival excitement has calmed down. Once again, if your character would crash without an invitation they are welcome to show up on their own without knowing someone on Floor Six or replying to this post.
Characters who can't defend themselves are welcome to join for the research aspect, or try to lie their way into the exploration part.
If you need an excuse to have an IC reason, feel free to poke Ed here or whatever.
Also please note, Ed's a CRAU so appears different than in canon: more info here on that!
Any questions? Hit me up on plurk or PM Ed's journal:

you'll have to come to the meeting for the debriefing.

Sometimes. Every once in a while. I think it's a thing of the portal that causes people to suddenly appear all at once.
[ he chews and then swallows ]
There's not much out there besides the dead, but if you want someone who can speak with them, I can come along. I can also defend myself and others, if necessary.
no subject
Where I came from that only happened sometimes, and when it did those people didn't stick around for long.
[Ed pauses at that, before reconsidering the obvious confusion on his face. Of course this kid can speak to the dead. He's not buying the idea that's all that's out there though, not with a whole city to explore.]
Might be a plan. We'll be taking more than one trip, but you can stop into the debriefing to get all of the information.
[sorry Nico, there won't be any french fries, you might want to bring your own.]

Nah, it's been like, almost every month since I got here. And most people stick around. Very few every return home, if that's even where they go.
And yeah, I can do that. I'll pop in and check it out.
no subject
Few ever return home..?
[This place was sounding more and more different every day.]
Sounds like a plan. There'll be snacks, too.
[because Ed's not convinced Nico isn't just always eating.]

That's what my brother and I do here, so I would say so.

ever come across any cars
?
[NO REASON. Just, you know, caaaaasual conversation.]
no subject
not really, but we're still pretty new here.
It's not exactly the sort of thing we've been looking for either.
[Not in the job description, probably won't help with repairs and it's not like either of them drives.]

[There's a twinkle in his eye. Link was going to explore the ruins himself to see what he could learn about this mysterious place, but now it felt like his duty to help out.]
I'll see you at the meeting.

[Ed's not concerned with how long people have been present, everyone has their own skills to offer the exploration party.]

[He's got that stupid grin on his face, more just wanting to comment on it than complaining that Ed had said something]
no subject
Because what's the chance all these people's brothers showed up at once is a coincidence?
[Totally not denying it.]
no subject
I don't really want to figure out the odds because first we'd have to figure out the odds of falling through a portal and that's pretty well impossible.
no subject
Only if it's complicated though, right?
[He doesn't respond to the last part, he might actually be looking into that.]

There's an abandoned city? What do you think you'll find there?
no subject
[He's honestly not sure, but he does think that there has to be a reason there's less territory available to them in the past. And a broken wall didn't sound like a decent one to him.]
no subject
[Keith supposed it made sense.]
When are you thinking of going? I'd like to figure some of it out, too.
no subject
[It's more hope than think at this point, but he's certain something is out there. Even if it's not an answer to his questions.]
We'll be taking a few runs out to find whatever we can, this isn't just a one time gig.
