I am not sure I would be very useful either. I have not had much experience in fighting.

I do not think he is very well known.

Neither have I. I know some magic, of course, but it's mainly defensive.

Perhaps. People are coming here from all sorts of places, though. I used to think we were at least all in the same planar system, but I don't think that's the case any more.

I do not know magic! Magic is AMAZING from what I have seen.

[Granted, that's not actually all that much.]

It is interesting to think about what is incommon with us, as well as how we are different.

I know what you mean. I've never seen so many different people all in one place before. It's exciting.

I have only seen the magic of people here, since I have arrived. Magic that changes things, and magic which can make one thing look like another thing.

It seems to be very versatile and useful as well.

Oh, so transmutation and illusion work? Interesting. The school of magic that I know is called abjuration.

I'd be happy to show you that too, if you were ever interested.

I did not know there are schools that teach magic. I have never been to a school.

I am very interested in learning new things! I am learning there is so much I do not know.

Oh, sorry. When I say 'school', I just mean the type of magic. Though I suppose literal schools also, um, exist.

Same here, actually. I'm enjoying the experience more than I thought I would.

Does it require equipment?

[Mantis, after looking up pictures for magic, discovered a lot of seems to involve pointed sticks.]

You do need a sort of arcane focus, yes. A wand is what a lot of people think of first, but it could be a crystal or a glass orb or a staff... something along those lines.

(But yeah a pointed stick would do just fine!)

Should I attempt to acquire one? Or do you have some for demonstration?

I have a spare. It's more of a mental connection than actually having 'proper equipment' though, so if you have anything of significance with you it would probably work just fine as a conduit.

I have a cactus, and a lamp with colors, and a pink stick with a star and ribbons.

They are the first items I have ever owned, but I do not know if they are significant.
