riverview | Bond 4 [@prof.sycamore: Video]

[As the video starts, you may see that there are no signs of the Kalos Pokemon Professor anywhere. Instead, you can see the Mach Pokemon taking a little peek on the camera as she taps on the screen out of curiosity. Judging by her current location, you could see that she is in the middle of the forest just near the lake.

However, her little curiosity on his smartphone is quickly interrupted by a stone flying through the screen, which she manages to dodge it completely. Confused, Garchomp looks around on where the stone came from until...]

Garchomp, look out!

[Just like that, you can see more stones coming from the east. But thanks to her trainer's panicked orders, Garchomp quickly uses her claws to deflect the stones. Once that's done, Garchomp leaves the video for a while, which you can hear Sycamore's voice offscreen.]

Oh, no... I'm sorry again, Garchomp. I really did it again... I just...

[And then, you can hear a "THUD" from the background and Garchomp's panicked growls afterward.]

I-I'm okay, Garchomp... C-Could you try to bring my phone over here? I need to send something...

[After a few seconds without any presence in the video, Garchomp returns onscreen as she grabs the phone with her claws carefully, which it covers the camera completely in darkness for a few seconds. Then once the camera is uncovered, you can see Professor Sycamore sitting near the tree who is somehow exhausted as he rubs his temples as he starts to speak.]

Oh, is it on already?

I-I'm really sorry you have to see that... I was trying to train by the woods when I lost control of my powers again...

[Sycamore then gives a big sigh of dismay over what was happened.]

To be honest, I'm really trying to control my telekinesis ever since I got them two months ago. But it seems everytime I got so stress or panic, I tend to lose control of them no matter what...

I just need some advice now because if this keeps up, it might hurt anyone including my Garchomp.

[The moment Link saw a Garchomp on screen, he immediately tried to figure out where this was taking place, thinking that the monstrous creature was one of the monsters he had been told about and thinking that whoever owned the phone that was recording the message was in some kind of terrible danger.

He calmed down when it appeared that this creature was not only tame, but seemed to follow orders given by the exasperated man. The face Link is showing is full of concern and confusion.]

I don't know anything about telekinesis, [he had no idea what it even was.] but I'd be willing to help you out. So is that...thing your pet?

[He just wants to make sure that it's not going to eat you. Link's saved plenty of people from monsters back home and he still considered it his duty even though he wasn't in Hyrule anymore.

Yes. She's a dear friend of mine and she's very gentle despite her ferocious appearance.

So in a way, she's not going to hurt anyone.

[Garchomp agrees to what her trainer said as she nods to this.]

And regarding my telekinesis, I just want to find a way to control it without my negative feelings affect it.

[Link has to admit that he's impressed that such a creature was tamed, and not only that, it seemed to understand everything this man was saying!]

She must be a good companion.

I'm sorry, I don't think I can really help you with this.

[Link puts his hand to his chin in thought.]

Isn't there a kind of research center that studies magic somewhere around here? Maybe they can help.

She really is. Garchomp always there to help me whether on battles or my research.

And that's alright. But regarding what you've mentioned, I recalled that someone opened up some kind of a magic Institute...

[Link hesitated. He wasn't sure if what he was about to say was appropriate or not.]

So uh, would it be alright with you if I met with you and Garchomp in person? I've never seen anything like her before. I just wanna see her up close.

[Don't worry, he's not about to try to slay the creature, but he's very interested in her and if there are others of her kind somewhere here in Riverview, Link would be very interested in making one his companion.]

I haven't gone to the magic institute yet. [He shrugs.] I don't really know much about magic.

[Once he hears his request, Augustine gives a small smile on-screen.]

Sure. We're still in the forest. But I can meet you at your location if you like.

[Yet as he tries to stand up, he ends up on the ground again as Garchomp catches him. Seems his exhaustion from his telekinesis still haven't left yet.]

That's alright. I think I can find it on my own here.

I'll come meet you. I'll be there soon.

[Link had been out and about anyway, and it didn't take him too long to find the forest the Professor was in. He and his Garchomp weren't hard to find, considering how big that thing was.

Link approached cautiously. The large creature might be friendly towards his master, but Link wasn't sure how it was around strangers. He stayed clam and relaxed as he moved forward. Link knew how to keep himself composed around animals.]

Need a hand?

[Thankfully for Link, he arrives just when Garchomp is struggling to get her trainer up. Even the Pokemon Professor smiled at the sight of the same young man from the video.]

Of course. Sorry if I put you the trouble to be here.

[Once Sycamore regains his balance thanks to them, Garchomp then slowly approaches the young swordsman and growls happily as a way to thank him for his help.]

[Link steps closer and offers a hand to the professor so he can pull him up.]

It's no trouble for me, really.

[Link was a knight after all. It was practically in his blood to help others and he was glad to find something to do, even if this turned out not to take a whole lot of his time.

He kept an eye on Garchomp, just in case it mistook his actions for something more aggressive.]

You can lean on me if you need to. Maybe you should take a seat over there.

[Link pointed to a log not too far away.]

Alright. Garchomp, if you would...

[His Mach Pokemon nods in approval as she helps Link escort her trainer to the log for him to sit. Once he did, Sycamore sighs in relief as he takes a seat on it.]

I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Professor Augustine Sycamore and this is my Pokemon, Garchomp.

[She happily growls to Link as her way of saying hello.]

[Link grins and nods at Garchomp, then extends his hand to the Professor.]

I'm Link.

[He still looks a bit concerned]

Do you want me to get you anything? I've got some water and some food on me. [An adventurer is always prepared.]

[He would decline it gently, but when he heard his Mach Pokemon's stomach grumbles, he might as well take up his offer.]

Sure. That would be nice. It's almost lunch anyway.

[Link hears that rumble and decides that it's probably best to feed the giant-lizard-monster. Sure, the professor might have it tamed, but it was still full of sharp teeth and claws that Link didn't want to get too intimate with.]

Let's see...

[He kneels down and searches through his pack. He picks out his water skin and hands it to the professor. He then brings out a handful of roasted fish on sticks and looks to Garchomp.]

Do you like fish?

[When Link asked her about the fish, Garchomp becomes intrigued by this as she approaches him and sniffed the roasted fish. Once she does, Garchomp gently chomps on one of the roasted fish as she smiles in delight.

Of course, Sycamore notices this as he also smiles at what Link just given her.]

I can give that a "yes".

And don't worry. She might be a carnivore, but she doesn't want to hurt anyone.

[Link smiles when Garchomp takes the fish. As vicious-looking as she was, her behavior reminded him more of his horse than the monsters he had fought.]

Have as much as you want.

[Link picked one out himself and started munching on it while handing one out to the professor.]

Are creatures like her common where you're from? She seems like a good companion.

[While Garchomp enjoys her roasted fish, Sycamore takes the fish from Link as he stares at the trees.]

Her species are actually rare to find, but I found her when she was a Gible, her pre-evolved form. She was a little rowdy, but she managed to open up and calm down when I caught her.
