[The post is in text, because he can't imagine trying to discuss this with words or, even less, video. He's not really prepared for that. But he needs to ask.]

I know this is kind of a sensitive topic, but hopefully it's not too much to ask.

Did anyone else here die right before they arrived?

[Eddie can imagine how weird it is for Ray. It's weird for him too. How does he even start to process his own death? How do you grieve yourself? Do you get to grieve yourself if you're still alive?]

Thanks Ray, that really means a lot. Maybe we could grab something to eat at the festival, find a quiet place to sit down together?

[ Or maybe, they should celebrate the fact that he's alive. But Ray will save that trace of his thought for when they see each other in person. Part of him is still prepared for this to be some kind of practical joke. ]

That sounds fantastic. Maybe tomorrow afternoon around 2? There's a huge donut stand (I know) near the center of the food section. Their sign is really big. I'll ... see you there?

[ Even after he's typed it out, the idea of seeing Eddie there still feels bizarre and unreal. ]

[Eddie would probably think that way too if he weren't feeling so pessimistic. It's hard not to, with almost two weeks of being kidnapped and half-starved and then death only a few days later right behind him. Not the most encouraging.]
