Video (and optional Action)| UN: Ladybug

[ Here's an unfamiliar face to probably many. A girl in a red and black spotted leotard with matching mask is grinning into the video. From her surroundings, it looks like she's somewhere outside the city. ]

Hey everyone, Ladybug here. Got a question for you. I was out patrolling the area outside the city and came across some nasty creatures chasing after - [ She turns the feed around to show an injured Korok, sitting a short distance away with a bandage she had tied around its leg. ]

One of these little guys. I personally haven't ever seen one before, but I thought it'd be a good idea to ask around in case someone else has come across the - [ She's distracted by a growl from out of view of the camera, and she scowls. ]

Persistent things aren't you.. [ Mutter. She pulls her yoyo out and turns to prepare to go on the defense, though she tosses one last comment. ]

Gotta run - but if anyone's seen these guys around or knows anything about them, drop a message here, I'll get right back to you!

[ OOC: unless someone happens to be outside the perimeter as well and comes across them, that's a thing also. ]

[ Well this is just... bizarre, and he feels like his answer might not actually be that helpful, but Cisco would feel bad not saying anything if the information might help. ]

i've seen something like them but where i'm from they're only fictional.
they're supposed to be forest spirits.
don't know a whole lot beyond that.

[ It's a bit before she manages to answer, since said monsters were particularly nasty, but when she does she's sitting on a fallen tree, watching one of those 'forest spirits'. ]

No way, really? I've never seen one like them where I'm from -er [ Oops, no personal information. ]

Forest spirits like protectors, I take it? At least, assuming that's how they were written in the tales you've read?

[Yuffie has not see those things but that isn't what catches her attention.]

Why are you wearing a mask? [She's also on the perimeter guard and will keep a look out, even if she doesn't say as much.]

[ The response comes a little delayed, for obvious reasons. ]

Huh? Oh, that. It's part of the costume, why?

[ Depending on where Yuffie outside the wall she might hear the distant growls of the beasts Ladybug had been fighting and was keeping at bay. ]

[Yuffie does hear something though the echo between what she hears and the phone is a little disorienting.]

Why do you need a costume to fight? It looks like that'd give you a really bad weggie.

Well, without it I wouldn't have my weapons or powers. Though it's not so much the costume that allows me to fight, it just .. comes part of the package.

You don't have superheroes where you're from, do you?

What? I am a super hero! Don't you know? I am the Great Ninja Yuffie! The Defender of Justice and the Peace of Wutai!

[She pauses.]

On that note. Do you need help?

basically. i could tell you all the lore from the different games but it boils down to they take care of trees and kind of worship them.

you might want to try stopping by the zoo, see what the folks there think?
even if they've never seen one before they're gonna know a hell of a lot more about unidentified species than i would
especially when the details might not line up between fiction and reality.

you said they're getting attacked?

[ That's... a bit worrying, if he's honest. ]

You might be right, there. I'm not so sure they'd know about these guys, but it won't hurt to ask.

Yeah, there was a hunting pack of some weird.. monsters I guess you'd call them? They were chasing one of the little critters until I caught sight and stepped in. [ She glances away from the feed distractedly. ]

Now I'm just escorting them to the river since those things don't seem inclined to give up so easily.

[ She giggles a little to herself. ]

I didn't know that, no. I haven't run into too many other superheroes - whoops!

[ This last as she catches sight of a beast taking advantage of her distraction to try to charge past her - she abruptly casts the network device aside mid-conversation (how rude) to turn her attention to what she deems a potential emergency. ]

No no, I've got it -- I think..! Mayb-gah!

[ she...might need a little help. she's probably not too far in fact! ]

[Yuffie watches the screen with interest.]

It sounds like you need help. Just sayin'~

[With a grin Yuffie flicks her phone closed and stashes it into one of her many pockets. She then runs her fingers along the metal gauntlet that runs down her arm. A red clock ticks quickly under her feet and she's off, bounding through the woods at twice her usual speed.

When she runs into the red spotted figure she flicks out the long blade that's protruding from her back, twisting it until it snaps into a shuriken that's larger than Yuffie's torso. She then throws it towards her target, and readies to catch it on an adjacent branch.]

Don't worry! The Great Ninja Yuffie is here!!!

nice of you to look out for the little guys. just, uh, maybe take some backup next time,
the monsters can get pretty aggressive

I won't say no - [ Is what Ladybug was saying at the time - when Yuffie happens on the scene, she'd see Ladybug already fighting one of the beasts - a total of three, they looked like angry velociraptors. Quick on their feet, one dodged Ladybug's swing with the yoyo - though her target was for the third one that was about to pounce the Koruk. She hooked the yoyo around its neck and gave it a yank - the third turned to pounce on Ladybug while she was distracted, only for a shuriken to fwwip past, slicing along its side and drawing its attention - and ire - for the ninjette. ]

Be careful! [ Ladybug called over. ] They have some kind of paralytic venom.

I can handle myself, for the most part. They only got the jump on me because I was distracted.

[ Though she knew a lot of her battles back home only went as well as they did because she had Chat Noir aggroing the enemy. ]

i don't doubt it.
but even the best heroes ought to have backup.
even if it's just over comms.

[ Cisco has very firm views on this; every time Barry's gone off comms, run off to do something on his own without support, things have gone very poorly. ]

I agree,... although sometimes that's not always possible.

[ She wasn't against having support, but if someone was in trouble, she wasn't going to sit around waiting for a response either. ]

[ Cisco doesn't know this lady, and it's probably not his place to pry or offer his opinion, especially since he is not really a front-lines sort of fighter. All the same, he is too used to fussing over Barry, and some of that spills over any time he sees someone risking themselves - particularly if they're doing it in a brash way while wearing a mask. ]

i mean, that's true, obviously, but there's a ton of hero types here. must be someone you can work out a buddy system with?

Are there that many? [ She hasn't come across that many, personally - there was Yuffie, and one other guy she ran into ages ago. ]

Unfortunately my partner isn't here. Still you bring up a fair point. [ Whether she'll take his advice is another matter. ]

I never signed up with the Perimeter Guard. I suppose I'd have better luck with a 'buddy system' if I did.

from what i've seen? definitely. seems like every other person i talk to is all about helping people and saving the world.
i think you probably would.
they're pretty great from what i've seen. i'm not a member or anything but i make tech and equipment for them from time to time.
and working in a team means you have a better chance of keeping control of a situation if things go south in an epic way.

[ She was used to working only with one person, so working with multiple people would...be an adjustment, if nothing else. ]

Huh. [ Going from a world with only two heroes to a world with so many heroes you'd hit one if you threw a stick in a random direction is...weird. ]

What kind of tech and equipment?

[Yuffie doesn't look worried an honestly she isn't.]

I got this!

[She holds her palm against the metal guard on her arm and one of her Matiera begins to glow. A bronze clock appears beneath one of the two creatures that Labybug is fighting.] I don't know how long that lasts so make it count! [She's doing tests to figure out the exact time of her Materia spells. So far it's changed with her tests and she can't figure out why except perhaps magic resistances in creatures versus objects.

Yuffie turns towards the creature who is now facing her and sticks out her tongue at it.] Catch me if you can! [Her palm slides up her arm and the Materia she has now goes from glowing green to blue.]

Take that! [Ice shoots up from beneath the creatures feet as Yuffie jumps to another branch that's out of the way. She never plans for her spells to last.]

Make what count?

[ Ladybug, though her Miraculous -TEEEEEEECHNically was a form of magic, is not familiar with magic itself. She has no idea what Yuffie just did to the thing. Still, it seemed to help, she supposed! Her yoyo whipped out around its neck before it could lunge forward, and she yanked the string, sending the creature flying into a tree. The other raptorlike beast sprinted after Yuffie, screeching when its erupted beneath it and ruined its footing. Its head swiveled around, following the ninjette's movements, spitting a gross greenish-brown substance in her direction. ]

Ew ew ew ew ew ew ewww

[Is all Yuffie is able to say as the greenish-brown substance comes towards her. She jumps back but it managed to splash over her boots, which thankfully, covered her legs to the knee.]

Stupid monster!

[She shouts again, momentarily forgetting about Ladybug and the crap on her boots. She throws her blade and this time it sticks into him and doesn't come back.]

[ It just so happens that at the same time, Yuuto is outside the perimeter. Morgana may be gone, and they may have established during their first venture around the abandoned city that running solo may not be entirely wise, but now that he knows what it's like there's very little stopping him now. He's a restless spirit that wants to live a little, okay.

Too busy snooping around, Yuuto hasn't checked his cellphone in the past couple of hours to check what's happening on the network, but the noise in person is just as easy to catch. Currently decked out in the full black attire and white mask that makes up his thieving appearance, Yuuto perches upon the roof of an abandoned cottage; age has done it no wonders, with old wood splintering and caved in to make way for the twisting tree roots and branches to grow through. But it's... somewhat intact. Enough that Yuuto could teeter on the ledge and the worse that happens is wood creaking underneath his feet.

He doesn't seem worried. Even as he looks down upon Ladybug guarding a scared, hurt... whatever that thing is, surrounded by a few growling beasts, the masked stranger on the roof holds the demeanor of someone taking a casual stroll through the park.

This shouldn't be too bad. ]

Mind a little help down there?

[ Ladybug called out. Though the monsters had a semblance of intelligence at least - when the one Yuffie targeted stumbles back with the shuriken in its stomach proceeds to try and chew and yank it out rather than run around in circles screeching in ...monster-ese 'ha ha Its mine now' or something. Well, unless Yuffie targeted a vital spot in which case it's going to struggle with the weapon only for a few minutes before realizing its wasn't long for the world. ]
