Video (and optional Action)| UN: Ladybug

[ Here's an unfamiliar face to probably many. A girl in a red and black spotted leotard with matching mask is grinning into the video. From her surroundings, it looks like she's somewhere outside the city. ]

Hey everyone, Ladybug here. Got a question for you. I was out patrolling the area outside the city and came across some nasty creatures chasing after - [ She turns the feed around to show an injured Korok, sitting a short distance away with a bandage she had tied around its leg. ]

One of these little guys. I personally haven't ever seen one before, but I thought it'd be a good idea to ask around in case someone else has come across the - [ She's distracted by a growl from out of view of the camera, and she scowls. ]

Persistent things aren't you.. [ Mutter. She pulls her yoyo out and turns to prepare to go on the defense, though she tosses one last comment. ]

Gotta run - but if anyone's seen these guys around or knows anything about them, drop a message here, I'll get right back to you!

[ OOC: unless someone happens to be outside the perimeter as well and comes across them, that's a thing also. ]

[Yuffie watches the screen with interest.]

It sounds like you need help. Just sayin'~

[With a grin Yuffie flicks her phone closed and stashes it into one of her many pockets. She then runs her fingers along the metal gauntlet that runs down her arm. A red clock ticks quickly under her feet and she's off, bounding through the woods at twice her usual speed.

When she runs into the red spotted figure she flicks out the long blade that's protruding from her back, twisting it until it snaps into a shuriken that's larger than Yuffie's torso. She then throws it towards her target, and readies to catch it on an adjacent branch.]

Don't worry! The Great Ninja Yuffie is here!!!

I won't say no - [ Is what Ladybug was saying at the time - when Yuffie happens on the scene, she'd see Ladybug already fighting one of the beasts - a total of three, they looked like angry velociraptors. Quick on their feet, one dodged Ladybug's swing with the yoyo - though her target was for the third one that was about to pounce the Koruk. She hooked the yoyo around its neck and gave it a yank - the third turned to pounce on Ladybug while she was distracted, only for a shuriken to fwwip past, slicing along its side and drawing its attention - and ire - for the ninjette. ]

Be careful! [ Ladybug called over. ] They have some kind of paralytic venom.

[Yuffie doesn't look worried an honestly she isn't.]

I got this!

[She holds her palm against the metal guard on her arm and one of her Matiera begins to glow. A bronze clock appears beneath one of the two creatures that Labybug is fighting.] I don't know how long that lasts so make it count! [She's doing tests to figure out the exact time of her Materia spells. So far it's changed with her tests and she can't figure out why except perhaps magic resistances in creatures versus objects.

Yuffie turns towards the creature who is now facing her and sticks out her tongue at it.] Catch me if you can! [Her palm slides up her arm and the Materia she has now goes from glowing green to blue.]

Take that! [Ice shoots up from beneath the creatures feet as Yuffie jumps to another branch that's out of the way. She never plans for her spells to last.]

Make what count?

[ Ladybug, though her Miraculous -TEEEEEEECHNically was a form of magic, is not familiar with magic itself. She has no idea what Yuffie just did to the thing. Still, it seemed to help, she supposed! Her yoyo whipped out around its neck before it could lunge forward, and she yanked the string, sending the creature flying into a tree. The other raptorlike beast sprinted after Yuffie, screeching when its erupted beneath it and ruined its footing. Its head swiveled around, following the ninjette's movements, spitting a gross greenish-brown substance in her direction. ]

Ew ew ew ew ew ew ewww

[Is all Yuffie is able to say as the greenish-brown substance comes towards her. She jumps back but it managed to splash over her boots, which thankfully, covered her legs to the knee.]

Stupid monster!

[She shouts again, momentarily forgetting about Ladybug and the crap on her boots. She throws her blade and this time it sticks into him and doesn't come back.]

Be glad that didn't get on your skin!

[ Ladybug called out. Though the monsters had a semblance of intelligence at least - when the one Yuffie targeted stumbles back with the shuriken in its stomach proceeds to try and chew and yank it out rather than run around in circles screeching in ...monster-ese 'ha ha Its mine now' or something. Well, unless Yuffie targeted a vital spot in which case it's going to struggle with the weapon only for a few minutes before realizing its wasn't long for the world. ]

[Yuffie shivers but decides it's better to ignore the sludge on her boots. It's time to focus on the baddy though she doesn't think that it'll be much longer until the fight is there. Her aim had been off thanks to her anger and her blade had missed a vital spot by an inch or two. She has to get it back since replacing the large shurekin would be almost impossible in this world.

She places her palm on her Materia and a red clock ticks at her feet. Her actions become faster as she leaps from the branch that she'd been perched on. A new blade flicks to her palm, this one smaller. She manages to stab the creature in the eye, hook her boot into the large blade that's sticking out of it's chest and flip backwards keeping her dagger in her palm while grabbing her large Shurekin. The creature is probably still alive but it's blind in one eye. Yuffie has no idea what's happened to the other two.]

[ Ladybug had things well in hand with the other two - both were tangled up in her yoyo string and dangling from a tree branch by the time Yuffie finished with the one that had attacked her. That beast was definitely still alive, but it wasn't taking any chances, turning with a screech of mpain as it fled the scene. That shuriken has probably got some pretty gnarly chewmarks though. ]

[Yuffie sticks her tongue out at the beast before turning back to Ladybug with a grunt. She flicks her wrist and sheaths her Shurekin. She'll have to fix it later and is not looking forward to that.]

Problem solved!

I see you got the others tied up. What are you doing out here anyway?

[ Ladybug nodded behind her to where the little Koruk was huddled. ]

I was protecting this little guy. He got hit with one of those venomous .. spit balls and couldn't run away. I thought I'd get him ...her... uh, it, over to the river and see if washing it off would help.

At least that was the plan before those brutes showed up.

[Yuffie looks down at it and smiles.]

It's cute.

[Though that still doesn't explain the Ladybug costume.]

Well, we got this much done. Let's finish the job.

[ She's surprised by that, but she nods with a smile. ]

Yeah, thanks. I appreciate that, especially if those beasts think of coming back. [ Turning to the Koruk, she scooped it up. ]

Come on little guy, let's get you fixed up.

It's kinda my job, ya know?

[Yuffie flashes her a grin. She doesn't want to let on how much she likes helping people but it's the truth.]

[ Ladybug grinned back, nodding. ]

I appreciate it anyway. [ She's thoughtful a moment as they walk. ]

So how many other superheroes, or crime fighters have you met here?

A lot of people in spandex and I have no idea why. Is that like... comfortable or something?

[Though she hadn't minded meeting Nightwing. He was nice to look at.]

Well, I can't speak for any of the other superheros, but as for me, it's as much part of my powers as a part of the disguise. When you have supervillains that want to take you down on a daily basis, you can't risk letting anyone find out who you are, or they'd start to go after your family and friends.

[ She was extra thankful for the magic that helped with that disguise too. ]

... also, yeah, it's pretty comfortable.

That sounds like some weird powers. Why not just use something that's easier?

[Yuffie thinks about that.]

I'm pretty sure everyone knows who I am. I'm also pretty sure that people would want to kill me anyway. Sorta comes with the title.

There's nothing weird about it. It's pretty convenient, if anything, since I at least don't have to buy or have someone make a costume for me. And it's not like I can just pick and choose my power.

[ By now the lake has come into view, and she glances around to make sure there weren't any beasts nearby. So far so good. ]

That's good for you, but that's not the way I work.

So you didn't just train or find materia?

[Yuffie hasn't had this power thing explained to her.]

How did you get like this?

[She points to the polka-dots as if she was wearing a similar suit.]

No, not exactly. ... is the materia what you used with those weird, clock faces? [ Similarly she had NO idea what was going on with that. ]

How? Well...it's kind of a long story. I guess you could say my powers were passed on to me by the previous owner. My clothing automatically transforms into this outfit when I do - so when I transform back to a civilian, my civilian gear returns. Neat, huh?

[She lightly scratches her cheek.]

[ OH. RIGHT. She always forgot about that detail, ahaha. Makes things awkward when she talks to people like she knows them, forgetting they never met her alter ego. ]

Ladybug. Nice to meet you.

[ By then they've reached the river, so she stepped forward to put the Koruk down. ]

There you go little guy - you should be feeling good as new soon.

[Yuffie watches her, placing her hands on her hips.]

Is that really your name?

[ She grinned a little awkwardly. She suspected Yuffie had been waiting for her REAL name. ]

Course it is. I guess it's a little strange, but you can't say it doesn't fit the outfit, no?

With the little guy where he's suppose to be Yuffie waves a hand through the air.]
