I heard something that has me concerned.

Someone at the masquerade said she used to room with a woman named Allura who fits her description.

She's not here anymore. Which makes me wonder where is she?


ii. OPEN / day after

Question for those who have been here for a while. I was just told by someone that someone I knew named Allura used to be here and that's she's no longer here.

So I wanted to find out, what happens to people who just disappear? Where are they?

It's important that I know.

[Keith was a little surprised when his communicator buzzed. He glanced it over, and frowned a bit in concern at the message from Shiro.]

there dont seem to be many people here whod look like her either

Outside the masquerade. About a block due east.

[And... sure enough... it didn't take long before Keith was walking up to him, a concerned look on his face.]

[Shiro was pretty obvious standing there, not even trying to blend in. He can see the look of concern on Keith's face as he comes over]

So it has you worried too?

Of course, it does. If she was here, then where is she now? What if she's lost beyond the wall or something? Is it normal for people to disappear like that?

I don't honestly know where she could be. I'd hope she's back home or something like that. The young woman I spoke with didn't seem to concerned with it so she seemed to think it was normal for someone to disappear.

[He sighed, glancing back over at the building where the masquerade was being held]

This may be a question for those who have been here longer, see if they know something.

Normal? [Keith frowned at the idea that something like that was normal. He also looked back at the building.] Yeah. I think we need to ask around more. I want to make sure she didn't get hurt or... something. [He didn't want to think of "something", honestly.]

I don't like that either. [Shiro nodded] We'll ask around, see if anyone know anything about what happens when people vanish.

As far as I know, once people have served some amount of public service to the Quarantine- if they want to go home, they can. Not sure if that's true, but it's a better thought than the alternative.

[Keith sighed.]

I don't know if we'd get any good answers at this point with the party, though. Maybe we can start asking around tomorrow.

[He didn't like waiting, but... Well, the best results for their efforts would be when people had clear heads and hadn't been drinking and partying.]

No, right now is probably not the best time. We'll check around later and see what others know.

[He sighed]

I didn't want to wait to tell you though.

[Keith nodded.]

Yeah. Thanks.

[He was quiet for a moment, and then looked at Shiro.]

We'll figure this out. I'm sure she's fine, though. I'd like to think she would have heard of us being here by now and contacted us if she was still here.

[He could so easily ignore this. Let it pass, like he does 90% of the other network posts that show up on his phone. But this one in particular, strikes him as one he can't really ignore--not with how long he's known the girl.

So while his response might be cold, at least Shiro gets a more concrete answer.]

Knew her pretty well.

A few months before we arrived here, in Riverview. We were all stuck in a pretty dangerous situation where a lot of people died of before getting pelted here.

When people disappear here, I figure they all just end up going home, wherever that 'home' might be.
But at the same time, I was also under the impression that the people here could only send you back to where you were before you came here.

Meaning...

She either managed to make her way home.
Or she's back out in that damned space fleet.

Yeah. You made that announcement when you first arrived so she should have heard that. Also I can't imagine her running off into the wilderness without someone with her.

[Well, this was probably some of the best information that he could have gotten but it still wasn't easy to read, knowing Allura might be in a dangerous situation]

So in other words she could be safe or she could be in that dangerous situation again.

What space fleet is this? How did she get there?

So its possible that she could have been sent home after being here. That she would have ended up back at the Castle?

Well... I can. But, I'd hope she wouldn't.

[Allura could be just as impulsive as Keith at times.]

Still, we can keep an eye out and ask around. Maybe even check out the portal itself. She might have tried to go back.

They just seem to disappear. Maybe they go back through the portal. Or maybe they kidnap them, take them to a factory in the city, and grind them up into the meat they're selling us.

[Don't ask him where he got that idea from, it's not like anyone's shown him Soylent Green yet.]
