I heard something that has me concerned.

Someone at the masquerade said she used to room with a woman named Allura who fits her description.

She's not here anymore. Which makes me wonder where is she?


ii. OPEN / day after

Question for those who have been here for a while. I was just told by someone that someone I knew named Allura used to be here and that's she's no longer here.

So I wanted to find out, what happens to people who just disappear? Where are they?

It's important that I know.

[Shiro was pretty obvious standing there, not even trying to blend in. He can see the look of concern on Keith's face as he comes over]

Of course, it does. If she was here, then where is she now? What if she's lost beyond the wall or something? Is it normal for people to disappear like that?

As far as I know, once people have served some amount of public service to the Quarantine- if they want to go home, they can. Not sure if that's true, but it's a better thought than the alternative.

So its possible that she could have been sent home after being here. That she would have ended up back at the Castle?

Yeah, maybe. That's what they tell us anyway. Don't know how much you want to buy it though, some people are pretty cynical, but- I don't know. I for one would like to hope they're telling the truth. The Quarantine guards and stuff haven't really tried to be anything but helpful, so. Then again, Soylant Green was people.

I'd like to hope that they aren't lying either. But yes, there is the possibility there's something more sinister behind the disappearances. However there isn't proof of either.

They've been pretty nice, I dunno- I think there's only so much niceness one can fake, and everybody keeps trying to pull back the veil- a veil that I don't really think exists. Skepticism about captors makes sense, but with so many people looking for the same answers if they were really as awful as people want to think you would think someone would have found out about it by now. I mean, I've been here almost a year now- so.

Knew her pretty well.

A few months before we arrived here, in Riverview. We were all stuck in a pretty dangerous situation where a lot of people died of before getting pelted here.

When people disappear here, I figure they all just end up going home, wherever that 'home' might be.
But at the same time, I was also under the impression that the people here could only send you back to where you were before you came here.

Meaning...

She either managed to make her way home.
Or she's back out in that damned space fleet.

So in other words she could be safe or she could be in that dangerous situation again.

What space fleet is this? How did she get there?

There were hundreds of us out on that space fleet. From what we were told, the fleet was so large, it had its own space-time distortion field that could accidentally displace people from their homes.

That's how I ended up there. Figure that's how Allura ended up out there, too.

She's a smart girl.

Even if she is out there, she can take care of herself in that situation.

So essentially got pulled from home to this... space fleet? That sounds like a theory Slav would come up with.

I don't doubt she can take care of herself, but we have a mission and we can't have her trapped elsewhere if we get back.

From what I remember, she had her own ship in the fleet too. Along with some others.

Didn't really get to know them. Remember one had brown hair. Glasses. Shouted a lot when someone messed with her personal items.

Your choice if you believe me or not. But I'm not the type to spin wild stories just to fuck with someone I don't know.

Whatever 'mission' you have now. Looks like it's on pause with you here, anyway.

They just seem to disappear. Maybe they go back through the portal. Or maybe they kidnap them, take them to a factory in the city, and grind them up into the meat they're selling us.

No, but just think about it. Why else would they give us a place to live, jobs, generally the whole city being better than where we came from? You do the same things with pigs: make them comfortable, relaxed, give them nice shelter, fatten them up for a few months. And then --[He makes a slicing sound.] --Bacon for everyone.

[He's going to keep up this absurd theory as long as he can just to mess with Shiro.]
