He pockets the phone for the moment and begins to open a portal. If he's doing it right, Lup will see golden sparks start to appear in the air. ]

[That was a hell of a show.

Not in the good way, either; even from a distance, the force of it kind of stung. And even though Mordred is not the person people are talking to when they ask for help, Taako and Lup were the first people to greet him when he arrived (for whatever that was worth) and despite the fiasco that became, they weren't as horrible as they could have been.

Plus, it's clear that Taako is Going Through Something. He knows what that's like.

Whatever; he has his reasons, it's not anyone's damn business what they are. There's not a whole lot he can do right now, truthfully speaking, but he abandons his vantage point and heads off in the direction of Gramarye. About an hour later, a little wrapped poultice will turn up in a conspicuous place with a note attached: 'For the scarring.']

[There's glittery shit in the air and she starts to try inching her brother behind her to protect him. It doesn't matter if she's wasting spell slots, she's giving her twin some damn Mage Armor.

[ Eventually, the portal will open up enough for Stephen to step through, still in his hospital scrubs. He gives her a nod, ]

[ He jerks a thumb over his shoulder, back through the portal he left in the hospital hallway. ]

[Of the two elves in the scene, Lup is by far the better off one, but Taako is a) conscious and b) not actively dying, so that's a plus.

He's also sulking, which is why the look on his face when Stephen appears isn't the relief it should be, because it's just straight up annoyance.]

Super sorry for wasting your time, doc, but the hospital is probably overkill.

[His mouth snaps shut when Lup gets up close; this is a familiar routine and it could almost be comforting except for how on edge he is. Taako pulls at what little magic he has to cast disguise self, putting his glamour back on and hiding the mascara streaks as he does.

He still looks like a cat that someone dropped in a bathtub, and the disk doesn't help.]

A spell backfired, it's not a big deal. I need like, a potion and a nap and I'll be sweet.
