And even though Mordred is not the person people are talking to when they ask for help, Taako and Lup were the first people to greet him when he arrived (for whatever that was worth) and despite the fiasco that became, they weren't as horrible as they could have been.

Plus, it's clear that Taako is Going Through Something. He knows what that's like.

Whatever; he has his reasons, it's not anyone's damn business what they are. There's not a whole lot he can do right now, truthfully speaking, but he abandons his vantage point and heads off in the direction of Gramarye. About an hour later, a little wrapped poultice will turn up in a conspicuous place with a note attached: 'For the scarring.']
