[It’s a bit overwhelming to go from one place to suddenly another—without the aid of a ship or anything of the like. Then, be greeted by strangers and be told they were in a different place. Rey is trying to grapple with it, but everything seems out of place to her. There wasn’t anything that screamed this was the First Order’s doing, nor could she sense Kylo Ren’s presence, but she still had to keep her guard up.
The device she’s using—a phone is what they told her—is an interesting one. It’s small, compact, and has other uses to it. Later, she’ll try to tinker with it maybe even take it apart to see how it works, but right now she needs answers.]
Has anyone else asked why we were brought here? Or, if they have, do they believe the answer?
Additionally, are there any ships here? If not, maybe an area with parts or a junkyard?
[It wouldn't be wise of her to say who she is. Who knows if there are members of the First Order are here. Or, really, anyone that has connections to the First Order.]

An x-wing is a smaller ship--the wings are in the shape of an 'x.' Small and powerful.

We don't have anything like that.
And I don't think I've seen anything like that here either.
no subject
But, it's pretty amazing.
If there's nothing like that here, I'll have to figure out a way to make one.

The world my brother was on had some, but they didn't stay there long
They just went up and came back down.
But if you can build one, I can help.
Brother and I are good at putting things together
and gathering material.
We're also alchemists, so we can transmute the parts you need.

I'll think about the offer...
What's an alchemist?
no subject
okay! (=^.^=)
an alchemist is a scientist that can transmute material
using the law of Equivalent Exchange.
Basically, Brother and I can manipulate matter
on a molecular level
I can show you, if you want?
no subject
So it's a type of science? That sounds highly advanced. Is an alchemist part of a code? Like, an order?
Maybe? I'm still figuring this place out.
[So...is he some sort of Jedi, then?]

They can be! My brother was a State Alchemist who worked for the military
but that was a while ago.
Alchemists in general work for the people
Because we can do alchemy, it's equivalent exchange
that we use that power to help others.
Here, I'll show you real quick.
[ and he switches to video, which shows a young man around 14 sitting at a table, surrounded by stacks of books. one is open before him, but he pushes it aside and grabs a sheet of paper. he sets it in front of him and then quickly draws a transmutation circle on it. ]
This is a transmutation circle, which is needed for all transmutations. Now I'll turn the paper into a folded crane.
[ he presses his palms to the edges of the circle and there's a burst of yellow and blue light that crackles around the page. soon, out of the paper, as it shrinks in size, a paper crane appears. when the transmutation finishes, he holds it up and then clicks the video off again. ]
That's pretty much it.
But Brother and I can do much larger and more complex transmutations too.

Sounds like alchemists are similar to what used to be around from where I'm from. Nothing that advanced--at least I think.
[When he switches to video, Rey is in complete awe of it. It's...incredible. There's nothing like that from where she's from. It's not like magic or anything, but it's...there's no other way to describe it.
She switches to video, revealing her face and smiling a little.]
That is remarkable. It's...wow. I have no words for it.
no subject
It's really a mix of chemistry and physics, so there are probably scientists like alchemists where you're from. Heh heh, and that was just a minor transmutation. You should see some of the other things Brother and I can do.
no subject
[It's really interesting, but she has to focus...and as nice as they are, she still needs to keep her guard up.]
Thank you for showing me that. I won't take up your time any further.
no subject
And it's okay! I like meeting new people, so it's nice to talk to you. I'm Alphonse. Alphonse Elric.
no subject
It's been nice talking with you too. Bye. [She turns off the video and starts to explore more of the city.]
