Video Open | un: blacklion
[The video opens with a rather hesitant looking Shiro. There's really nothing behind him as of the moment, but he does glance over at something almost right as the video kicks on]
So... it seems this place just keeps getting weirder. It seems we had some recent arrivals from our world and well... it's better to show you.
[He turned back to whatever he had been looking at]
Come here. You can come here.
[Faintly in the background there was the sound of metal moving off screen then something walked into view of the camera so others could see it. It was quite clearly a black robot lion with glowing yellow eyes, several panels glowing blue, and red wing like protrusions on its back. It's was larger than a normal lion. It walked over and sat down next to Shiro, leaning in as though trying to figure out what he was holding]
This is the Black Lion of Voltron. However, its usually not this... small.
[Yes, he is calling a robot that's larger than a normal lion small]
I'm usually shorter than Black's foot. Let me see it.
[This he says to the lion, which does raise one leg to let Shiro have its foot, but it basically drops all the weight into his hand which makes him flinch]
You are still made of metal and heavy.
[Someone might be able to faintly hear the snickering in the background, but then the next thing that happens is that Keith suddenly fell into the frame of the camera as though shoved by something, a vague red blur before it vanished. Shiro jumped when this happened and the Black Lion got up heading off camera again only to return a moment later carrying a smaller red lion by the "scruff" of the neck as Keith sat up. Shiro just put his chin in his free hand watching as Black carried Red off before he remembered this was still rolling and turned back]
They don't know their own strength.
[ooc: Meet your new neighbors, two of the lions from Voltron! Black is about the size of large liger and Red is the size of a small lion. They are... slightly more active than normal, but will probably be around their specific paladin for the most part.
Either Keith or Shiro is available to answer. If you have a preference or if your character is pinging a specific person, just let us know. It can even be both if you'd like! If no preference, random response.
The log where they arrive is still ongoing]

Something like an advanced android or robot from what I've gathered in talking to other people. In my world we used them for something like personal assistants or, if need be, for protection. My autoreiv Iggy was equipped for both. [ Mostly because she was a high ranking fellow citizen, but it's not like that means a damn thing here so there's absolutely no reason to bring it up currently. All of these cool robotic things are making her miss him, in a strange way - ]
That's fair. I would be confused too if I suddenly woke up at half my normal size. I'd feel ten years old again I'd think.

[And Black comes back over to see who Shiro is talking to]
Yeah, I would be too. Another weird thing to happen here, I guess.
Would you like to come meet Black?
no subject
Hm.. so Riverview gave them a bit of personality, then. [ Even more interesting.. a kind of expansion on what they already knew the portal was capable of, really, but she's not anything more than curious. It makes her wonder, if Iggy was ever brought through, if it would give him a little more free will than he may have already had. Not that anyone needed that - Iggy was willful enough in his Turing mode for anyone to deal with - ]
In a laundry list of them, by now. [ She agrees, shrugging her shoulders upward. ]
I.. would like that, actually. When would be best?

You can come now. We have them down in the garage of the communal housing while we try and figure out what to do with them.
[Black is a massive robot lion so stairwell might be a little hard]
video -- > action
Worst case scenario is you get to know them better, then, right? [ She supposed, anyway. Provided that there were no.. how to put it.. unpleasant personality traits that came forward. Who knew, now that they had a little more volition, what may happen. Re-L takes a moment to look around, as if assessing what she had intended to do that day - ]
Fine. The walk from my apartment to communal housing isn't long, maybe five minutes, I'll be there shortly.
[ All that she really needed to do was put some shoes on, and in around five minutes she's closing in on where she remembers the garages of the communal housing block to be. She's in her usual all black ensemble, tucking long black hair behind her ear as she catches sight of a familiar face. ]
It's been a few months since I've been back here, remembering where this was exactly was slightly fuzzy.

See you soon then.
[Shiro and Black did in fact wait for her to get there, Black sitting beside him]
It's all right. You did find it. This is the Black Lion.

[ The lion really is quite large. Granted, she's never actually seen a live one in person, only in books and on video feeds (the curse of living in a nuclear wasteland, here) - but even so, for a piece of machinery it's quite large. Re-L's a rather tall woman herself at over six feet in her heels, and it's rare for something to be so startlingly large and different, but it's not so shocking that she doesn't have to immediately resist the urge to reach out and touch it.
As much as she'd like to get up close to try and riddle out what this lion is made of.. she also doesn't want to test it's limits. ]
This is amazingly intricate. Even autoreivs, underneath their casings, weren't this complicated.

Black sat patiently as she came over and touched. The lions were getting more used to people coming in and looking at them. Black was calmer than he had been earlier]
They are. There are a lot of intricate parts and of course then there are their weapons. The tail has a laser on it.
[Black moved his tail around to show her the tip, colored yellow, where the laser was]
They also have laser cannons in their mouths and can generate a jaw blade. Basically like it is holding a dagger in its mouth.

[ It's all kind of.. jarring, honestly. Here she was, not expecting much of anything in meeting these lions despite what she'd seen in the video feed, and yet, with it here in front of her? The Black Lion is perhaps the first thing she's seen here in Riverview that's surpassed the technology she'd already had in Romdeau dome. Even their most cutting edge Autoreivs didn't quite look like this, though if they had...
More humanoid is not always better. Particularly if the things were going to turn on their masters in the end. Thankfully Shiro calls her away from her own thoughts rather quickly as he begins to explain the weaponry on them, taking in what he's telling her and examining closely when Black offers its tail. ]
They're very advanced. More advanced than the autoreivs in Romdeau. [ But that's.. incredible to her. In a way she probably doesn't really have the words for. ]
Very good as weapons too, I assume.
[ Let's just hope it's not a sign they should be preparing for something. ]

They've been too large to interact with, but with the bond, we have a relationship with them.
[So this will be interesting. He's wondering if part of the reason Red and Black seem to be so active is because they were smaller. If it was same amount of... whatever they fed off of to do what they did, now they had more of it per pound]
no subject
I can comfortably say I've never heard of a machine capable of that, before. [ She imagines if that happened to autoreivs when they had a better bond with their master - how that might've effected things in the end. It's a rather morbid train of thought, though thankfully easy to pull from when he's describing all the different things these lions are capable of.
It all seems a bit far fetched, but so does living in a Quarantine on a moon in space or being transported to a ship in the middle of deep space just because, and that's been her life for the better part of a year now... ]
Now, then, you can have an even better relationship I would imagine. Even if you're unable to pilot as you had been before... I just wonder...
[ She pauses, thinks about her wording for a moment - ] Did you make a request for them, or did they just appear? I've often wondered if the portal brings things for any.. particular reason, is why I ask.
no subject
A request? No, we didn't. We went out to see if we could figure out what had happened to our teammate who vanished before we arrived. Some creatures from beyond the wall attacked us and they showed up.
no subject
That's a hard balance to strike, sometimes. But it doesn't look as though you'll have a problem. [ It also probably helps that they were never ingrained with the thought that machines were lesser, but there's no sense in digging in to that bag of worms here and now. The lions weren't autoreivs with Turing functions, after all. ]
So it seems as though the portal brought them through in a time of need. Interesting.
I've just been curious, lately, as to the portal's motives for bringing things through, or if it's just random.
no subject
Yeah, it was interesting. Keith was about to get attacked by a creature and Red appeared with a roar and dragged it off him.
It's possible though that if the portal connected with our world at the right moment, the lions would have been able to try and use it on their own. Wormholes for travel are commonplace to them.
