It looks so much like my Earth, and yet..I know in my heart that it isn't.

[The device's camera is turned to show the serious expression of a new arrival. His blue eyes reflect a sort of sadness in them that he's certain plenty of people in Riverview have felt upon arrival.]

My apologies. I hope no one was brought down by my speaking aloud. A bad habit of mine, I'm afraid. My name is Ashley Flournette. My friends call me 'Ash'. [He gives his fancy pants brown hat a slight tip. A silent 'hello' to go with his introduction.]

The pastels are a good reminder it's not Earth. More Alfheim, yet I doubt it is as sugary.

Realm of the Light Elves, very similar in hues by comparison.

Back home they're more of a legend for us, though some of our metas resemble something akin to elves.

Metas. I've heard that term before, it's all a bit more messy where I'm from. [ His tone quirks with an innocent inquiry, ] Do you happen to know your universe designation, Mister Flournette?

I do not. I just know it's one of many.

[At least that's what he gathered from the video he watched upon arrival.]

You're homesick, then? All this world-gazing, it has me wondering why.

Downside to being a new arrival, I suppose. I'm sure there will eventually be plenty to distract me.

It doesn't much remind me of Earth but I've become painfully aware here at how far behind I am from everyone else here.

[The teenager that replies has one eye, looks a little bored, and speaks with a distinctly British accent.]

Why yes. Back home I am a chiropterologist. They're rather unique animals. At least to me.

Oh? Definitely the opposite of my home. At least in my city.

[They probably will eventually..though who better to fly under their radar than some that knows them bats?]

Metropolis. I do visit Gotham for my work sometimes, however. How'd you know?

A hunch. [ A four-vigilante strong hunch. ] I know of Metropolis too, passingly. They're not cities that exist on Earth-616 so I've never been.
