It looks so much like my Earth, and yet..I know in my heart that it isn't.

[The device's camera is turned to show the serious expression of a new arrival. His blue eyes reflect a sort of sadness in them that he's certain plenty of people in Riverview have felt upon arrival.]

My apologies. I hope no one was brought down by my speaking aloud. A bad habit of mine, I'm afraid. My name is Ashley Flournette. My friends call me 'Ash'. [He gives his fancy pants brown hat a slight tip. A silent 'hello' to go with his introduction.]

Realm of the Light Elves, very similar in hues by comparison.

Back home they're more of a legend for us, though some of our metas resemble something akin to elves.

Metas. I've heard that term before, it's all a bit more messy where I'm from. [ His tone quirks with an innocent inquiry, ] Do you happen to know your universe designation, Mister Flournette?

I do not. I just know it's one of many.

[At least that's what he gathered from the video he watched upon arrival.]

You're homesick, then? All this world-gazing, it has me wondering why.

[super_sane]

Downside to being a new arrival, I suppose. I'm sure there will eventually be plenty to distract me.

Likely. 'Bat Enthusiast', by the way?

Why yes. Back home I am a chiropterologist. They're rather unique animals. At least to me.

[ikols]

I always rather thought of them as flying foxes.

A kind way to refer to them. Some are less so inclined to do that.

[ikols]

[ 'Dearest Jason, perhaps you ought to see the newest chiropterologist for that red stain on your armour'. Suggestions that flit through Loki's head, quirking a half-smile. ]

You are hardly the only bat enthusiast in these parts, sir.

[ He's a little surprised Bruce's boys haven't piled in mask-first to snoop around. Hmm. ]

Oh? Definitely the opposite of my home. At least in my city.

[They probably will eventually..though who better to fly under their radar than some that knows them bats?]

Odin's Eye, let me guess. [ His entire social circle seems to revolve around, ] Gotham?

[super_sane]

Metropolis. I do visit Gotham for my work sometimes, however. How'd you know?

[ikols]

A hunch. [ A four-vigilante strong hunch. ] I know of Metropolis too, passingly. They're not cities that exist on Earth-616 so I've never been.

[super_sane]

I see.

[Is..he here?]

So there have been people from my world here before then? Heroes, I hope.

There have been people here from all worlds. Depends what you mean by heroic.

I suppose it does. Not everyone is universally called that. Especially in Gotham.

Nor among the deified. If you have questions, I may have answers; I've been here a good enough amount of time.

Some of it is strange. The video I watched warned of monsters past a certain point and I can't help but wonder if there are any friendly versions of these creatures?

You would have to brave the claws and fangs yourself and ask them, if there were.

Not so. Find a party from the perimeter guard to take you. Whyever would you want a tame monster, though?

[ Aside from the fact they're cool, which is a given and totally understandable. ]

They would be less likely to eat me.
