What am I to make of this? {The voice of this new user is entirely too calm; too collected considering the circumstances. But he has been uniquely trained by, shall we say, a vibrant life? Which, incidentally, ended abruptly (and painfully) in his memory.}

An introduction, perhaps? All of those start to sound the same, I imagine. {He finally comes into full view, smiling in a way that could be polite - if it weren't for the mischievous glint in his eyes.} Something like: I am Earl Vincent Phantomhive? Does that suffice? Should I add "of England"?

{He gives a light chuckle before remarking:}

[He remembers very well how often his brother stayed at his bedside, even with lessons in the way.]

It did. I hated seeing him suffer so. We worried you might have symptoms, but you never did.

[He remembers that his brother sacrificed a lot of his time outside or with Lizzie to play with him instead. Or to help their father and Diedrich cook for him and mother.]

I would have preferred it. He might not have felt as if he were burdening me so often because I would stay with him.

[Playing at being Ciel is easier when you're not faking it for a parent.]

Your mother often felt the same way about me. But we stayed out of love, did we not? What is there to apologize for?

Yes. And I'm not apologizing.

[Except he kind of is. The many times family outings were cancelled, or almost cancelled, because of his health. The times Tanaka would treat him for insisting the family still go.]

I'm glad you understand your brother so well.

We were twins. Of course we understood one another.

[If it was something they'd looked forward to, he never wanted to take that away.]

Is that the only reason for it? I think you were companions too. The best of friends.
